Devyn Dawson is the author of young adult books The Light Tamer Trilogy, The Legacy of Kilkenny Series, and new adult book Sapphire, A Werewolf Love Story. Her career has included working for Fortune 500 companies, grave decorating, and accounting. She enjoys spending her spare time riding on the back of her husband's motorcycle to the beautiful North Carolina beaches. Devyn lives in New Bern, North Carolina (about 2 miles from Nicholas Sparks)with her husband of twenty years, two cats, three dogs, and two cockatiels (3 of her pets are named after vampires, Klaus, Bella, and LeStat).

Jessie is an interesting young woman. At the beginning of the book, she is so negative. Everything "sucks". I can understand that she has some issues. She has an alcoholic father, her parents are splitting, and her mom is busy dealing with school that she doesn't have much time for Jessie. They move to North Carolina, Jessie has to start over and isn't thrilled about the prospect.

After moving in with her grandmother, or Miss Gayle. (Her grandmother is way to hip to be called Grandma.) Jessie is immediately introduced to Caleb. Literally from the moment they touch, the sparks start to fly. This is complete and total attraction from the get go.

Jessie find out that she is a Light Tamer, Caleb is one as well, that gives a quick explanation to their instant connection. She is on the light side, there are people on the dark side, they don't get along and the dark side tries to steal the light sides light.

The book felt rushed to me. Many of the explanations were glossed over and didn't answer a whole lot of questions.

This is an interesting premise, I just wish that there could have been a little more time taken to explain and have a relationship develop at a slower pace.

I couldn't wait to download this book since I have read several other books by Devyn Dawson from the Legacy Series and loved each one. I was not disappointed. I found this book quite enjoyable and a fast read.

The story of Jessie and Caleb goes far more in depth than a teenager's first kiss. Caleb saved Jessie from drowning so many years ago and since that day he has had a rare and unique connection to Jessie.

Jessie and Caleb are Light Tamers who have the ability to absorb light and its energy. They also have Dark Ones after them who will constantly try to steal their light away from them. They are unable to live an everyday life that a normal teenager is blessed with, but rather sleep with lights on, constantly have a L.E.D flashlight in hand in case of an outage and they must always wonder who is friend and who is foe.

I can't wait for the next installment in the series.

Definitely written for that young adult audience. The book reads easily and quickly. Jesse and Caleb find out they are bonded and that's all they have this cool super natural light taming power. I picture them like magnets totally drawn to one another and connected. So bonded Caleb can read Jessie's thoughts.

The one thing I find truly odd about the book is Why are so many Light Tamers located in a little town in North Carolina? I like that light tamers are a little bit different than your typical paranormal book. From what I understand this question will be answered in book 2 of the trilogy. I look forward to reading the answer.

I can't wait to pick up b ooks #2 and #3. I think you will find it to be an enjoyable read.

I've thought of myself as a writer for as long as I can remember. Being a grown up with a grown up job and a family to raise, left me with little time to write. Everyone is grown up now, and I get to do something I want to do. My love of young adult books helped mold me into the paranormal writer I am today.

The books that I write reflect the type of books that I like to read. When I was in high school, I read Stephen King and Sweet Valley High. I think that is the type of book I write....something that merges that together. You'll find my writing style to have an intricate story weaved within the main story. The characters have depth and many have flaws. The Legacy series is very detailed with many stories weaved into one. If you enjoy werewolves and vampires, this young adult series will keep you up at night...reading.

My Light Tamer Trilogy is a lighter read, with a new paranormal vibe. It is aimed for 13 and over, but people of all ages will fall in love with the series. If you love the world of fae and mythology, this is the series for you.
