Book Description

Jennifer Ellison always knew this day would come: the day she heads off to college. Away from her family. Away from her small coastal town. Away from the sea she loves and the lighthouse visible from her bedroom window. She's supposed to be excited, but she isn’t. Leaving home seems scary and unpredictable. But ready or not, she’s going. She knows it would be foolish to stay.

Life on a college campus proves to be a whole new world for Jennifer, but she finds the changes to be mostly pleasant. Her roommate and a special guy she meets on the first day give her a lot to smile about, but more pleasant surprises await her. Things she wasn’t looking for until she finds them at...The Lighthouse.

*The Lighthouse is a stand-alone novel for teen and college-age readers. Other independent novels by Melanie Wilber include, Home For Christmas, Welcome Home, The Journey, and The Narrow Road. 3.0 out of 5 stars The Lighthouse June 20, 2013
By Kristi
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was not what I would call an 'exciting' read, but the people were personable and you did care about what happened to them. And I must say, I enjoyed reading a book that was clean and had a healthy relationship shown.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yeah, something with a taste of Home! June 11, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The best part of this book is that the lead character is from my hometown of Bandon, Oregon. I haven't been back for years, but this book brought such fond memories of my life growing up along the Southern Oregon Coast in Bandon. The Author didn't give a lot of details about the town, since most of the story takes place in college at Oregon State University, but it was just enough to get me hankering for home. A cute sweet story of love both romantic and Godly. Written from a unique perspective the author writes like you're hearing the tale directly from Jennifer or maybe reading her detailed diary. This young lady finds a great guy and God when she was looking for neither. This book would be great for both teens and adults. It shares sound morals like waiting for a sexual relationship until marriage as well as highlights some key points that God wants us to understand about his love for us! It is not preachy but it shares the Gospel in a friendly way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best... September 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the best book I have read in quite some time. I have definitely referred others to it. Read the whole book in one day, it was a touching story, and I loved the cleanness of it. Very tough to find these days, and I found this story more engaging without it.

This story showed how the college experience could be rewarding and fun but still hold the Christian values. This is a cute journey of a young woman strengthening her relationship with Christ and I would highly recommend this story for every young girl to read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book. January 3, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Easy read. Good characters. I would've liked to have seen more about how Jennifer and Jodi's faith grew, but it was still a great book. Seems a little unrealistic that one's life can be so great, but it's the exact thing I dream about. I know a good life is out there!

5.0 out of 5 stars Christian romance August 19, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a great book for a couple of reasons. Faith in Christ was presented in a way so you could take it or leave, but also touched on the regret people will surely face if they reject Christ. It is refreshing to find a book that does not treat caual sex as something to be sought after.

I feel destitute. But I know Jesus would never let me sink. I am afraid. Any advice? Happy New Year. God bless.

More About the Author

My name is Melanie Wilber, and I have always enjoyed writing. At the age of twenty-two I decided to turn a childhood dream into reality by writing my first novel. Since then I have written more than 60 books for girls and women including the "Heaven in my Heart" and "True Friendship" series for pre and early teens, the "Seeking Heart" and "Pure in Heart" series for teens and college-age readers, the "Garden of Love" and "Moments In Paradise" series for older teens and women, along with several devotional books and independent novels.

My greatest desire is to know my God and make Him known. I believe in His unconditional love, and my mission is to help my readers embrace it for themselves. Some of my favorite Bible verses are Psalm 25:4-5, "Show me the path where I should walk, O LORD; point out the right road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you." (NLT)
