Book Description

A single baby, born to save a world.

Two ancient prophecies, both foretelling the extinction of a race. Two sides racing to their appointment with destiny.

A leader of men, determined to outwit the foretelling of his doom, leads his people in a sickening massacre to secure the continuation of his race.

A single man, troubled with nightmares and voices in dreams, worries for his sanity as his life crumbles around him.  Alone and friendless, Vincent escapes to isolated freedom, the loneliness forcing him to succumb to the terrifying nightmares and finally, to listen to the voices in the dreams.

Many worlds away across the aching void, Farra listens to the voices in her own dreams, and embarks upon a perilous journey to bring truth and justice to one troubled soul struggling to find a purpose.

The child that is now a man must face his nemesis and end the tide of evil that laid waste his world as he took his first breath.

The voices in the dreams lead them on a journey through space and time, from world to world in a desperate struggle for truth, justice, life.

Editorial Reviews

"If you enjoy a good bit of sci-fi mixed with paranormal then this book should do it for you! ;) This book was a good read! It has a ton of detail put into it. The author takes us on a journey full of intrigue & suspense." Jeni's Bookshelf.

From the Author

This is my debut novel, and the first of a four-part series.  I never imagined the little story I began writing would end up as such an epic tale, nor that it would become four volumes.  I grew up on a diet of science fiction movies and tv, and as I wrote Redemption, I watched the movie in my head.  People have said that this book reads like a movie, and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Epic Tale of Sorrow and Discovery June 19, 2012
This is the first in the Lilean Chronicles series. I can't wait to read the rest. I'm waiting for the books to become available in ebook format. In this first story, a child, long prophesied, is born from a dying mother, taken, and raised by a strange, reclusive group. From the very beginning one just knows there is something special about this child. Flash foward a few years and just how special that child will be is revealed. A great read. Very entertaining. I would recommend this story to anyone that enjoys a mix of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and the Paranormal. Based on this first story, I would also recommend the rest of the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great classic sci-fi January 31, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I think this book is really good classic sci-fi. Quite accessible characters, the story flows well and builds nicely. Did like the futurist world that the book is set in. There's even a bit of paranormal elements to the book.

I will also say it's not normally something that I would go for since I'm not a sci-fi fan. I personally like reading books with a strong female story protagonist which is probably why I think I've enjoyed the book as much as I have. Anyways, I'm glad I bought a copy of this book and will be reading more sci-fi as a result.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic Science Fiction Novel! July 25, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

I love science fiction, so when I was offered this book, I grabbed at it! I'm glad I did, because I loved it!

Farra is a human from Earth. She is a very strong character. She is very tenacious, has a will of iron and is dangerous with a knife! I liked her very much. She has been chosen for a very dangerous mission. Will she succeed?

Vincent is a very enigmatic character. I liked this character very much, but he didn't feature much in the beginning of the story. He is very much a loner, but being framed for a crime he didn't commit, he has become a fugitive.

This was an exciting read that kept me hooked from the first page! Science fiction is a subjective genre, but it allows the author to create beautiful worlds and fantastical characters. Add in a touch of suspense, and you get an adventure of galactic proportions! The author of this book has done just that. The descriptions of the characters and the environs were such that I could easily picture them. The story is told from several points of view, but Farra seems to be the main character until Vincent is brought into it. I was intrigued with Drycenian nation. They are most civilized, and are very technologically advanced compared to all the other worlds. Although, I'm not sure I approved of some of the technology used on Farra. However, I can see why they would do so, and she definitely needed the improvements to aid her mission! The King and the Prince appear to be kind and gentle, but they can be dangerous if provoked. I wouldn't want to get on their bad side!
There is a prophecy to fulfill and danger in the form of the Transmortal Army.

More About the Author

Ever seen that movie, Secret Window with Johnny Depp? If ever you want to know what I'm like when I'm writing, think of that movie. That's me, right down to the tattered bathrobe, unkempt hair and home like a hurricane victim. Everything stops when I'm writing/editing/formatting, I give it my whole attention. I would love to be one of those tidy writers, but I can't, I'm an all or nothing gal.

Science fiction has been a passion for me since I was a kid, largely motivated by my mother's love of the genre. Having grown up on a diet of Star Trek and Blake's 7, further fuelled by my parents' addiction to the physics of outer space, it was a foregone conclusion that I would grow up to be a sci fi nut. You are far more likely to find me watching a programme about how black holes work, than reality tv.

My dreams are big, and I believe that everyone should aim impossibly high. Although you might not quite reach the stars, if you just aim for the ground, you'll only hit the ground. I believe in destiny and pre-destination, reincarnation and alternate dimensions, human life being the result of alien experimentation, and bacon as a remedy for all ills.

I love to laugh but a joke must be clever as well as funny to make my lips quiver. Billy Connolly and George Carlin are my comedic heroes; you can keep your custard pies and banana skins.

Writing has proved to be the making of me in many ways. It has forced me to upgrade my vocabulary and knowledge, and it allows my naturally observant nature to be of positive benefit. Finally, as the Autumn years of my life begin, I now have a way to get my voice heard and my inner self flying to the stars where she has always wanted to be. I invent worlds, terraform them to my own design, and populate them with people of my own imagining. I cannot change the world I live in, and I cannot leave it for somewhere more comfortable, so I invent my own spend as much time in them as I can.

You are welcome to visit my universe. Take a chance and catch a flight today, you may just find you never want to return.
