This book is seriously life changing for any woman who has felt disappointed about not meeting the expectations of society. Marian Jordan really brings to light how we as women have "lists" we feel we must meet by a certain time or in a specific manner. She uses Biblical truths to illustrate how we can throw our list away and truly follow the list God has planned for us and the subsequent blessings that come from following God's list rather than our own.
Several times throughout the book I was met with striking similarities to my life - the writing and subject matter is so honest and genuine.
Ms. Jordan opens up about her own heartbreak and disappointment that comes with feeling like a failure if you do not have the "perfect" life you imagined yourself having by a certain age.
As a single woman, it was nice to hear another single woman say "It's okay to be single" and being able to back it up with Scripture rather than have a women who has been married 25 years say, "Oh, relish your years as a single woman! But when are you going to get married?"
This book would be great for high school and college aged women who need a reminder of our infinite worth in God's eyes rather than what we are "supposed" to do with our lives according to others.

As a single girl in her mid twenties, this book really resonated with me. We all have our lists of what we want in life, and often they are full of good things. But if you are anything like me I didn't seek God's list for me. I thought I had, yet every time something didn't go to plan it left me hurt and longing for something more. This book brings to light some principles for living a life that is based on a list that is truly pleasing to God and makes life so much more pleasant, even in the unexpected times. Marian Jordan gives practical advice of things that can be applied to your life.

I highly recommend this book to girls as young as high school. Some of it is written for an older audience, but these are concepts that can't be learned too early. And really women of any age can learn something from the wisdom of Marian Jordan and being content and happy with wherever we are. This book can change your life.

Marian came to our university to speak, and I later decided to purchase this book. It is truly great for those simply trying to figure out life. An easy and simple, yet deep way to have a daily bible study! There are also a few of our sororities on campus using the discussion guide in the back to have group studies! I would highly recommend this to ANY college female!

Marian upends so many of my basic assumptions of what I think is going to make me happy. Just as God challenged her to turn her "List" over to him, she challenges us to let God re-shape our priorities and to experience the freedom and joy of God's list for us. It is perfect for anyone young or old whose life doesn't quite seem to be going as planned.

I'm not a single Christian woman still hoping to find a man to marry, but I did discover that I also have a List that can be self-centered and foolish. This is a good reminder to keep all of our life-dreams, goals, ministries God-focused!

This book was eye opening to me. I live my life with a list... I use a to do list daily, I love lists! But having a "List" for the rest of my life only leads to dissapointment. By surrendering our "Lists" to Jesus we are surrendering our own plan for our lives for His plan which is better beyond our wildest dreams! If you've ever felt like you need to be married, or have a certain career, or have kids, or have certain friends, or wear certain clothes to accomplish your "list" then this book is for you. Marian writes about how we will never find satisfaction in anything other than a relationship with Jesus, and how we can have FREEDOM by surrendering our "Lists" to Him! GREAT BOOK!

I've gone through this book 3 times now and each time God reveals something else. Learning to trade in our wants for what God wants can be difficult, but Marian is very encouraging and uses her own life experiences to shed light on how the single season can be wonderful. Great read.

This book is refreshingly honest about expectations placed on young Christian women by themselves and by the church. It's a very easy read, with references to current celebrities etc. It's also full of good advice and helpful verses from the Bible.
