5.0 out of 5 stars The Little Leaf review January 1, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I bought this for my three grandsons and a copy for myself to read to them when they come and visit. The premise of a little leaf wanting to grow bigger like his brothers and sisters and all the ways he tries to accomplish that resonates with the desire in all of us to be better than we are now. The simple answer is refreshing and comforting. I enjoyed it so much I will be buying more copies for a local kindergarten and preschool.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Little Abstract September 9, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Not sure "abstract" is the word I'm looking for, but the point of the book, that you have to help yourself, make your own effort, etc. was a little over the head of my 4-year-old. Maybe she was just distracted when we read it but she kept asking me what the leaf was doing (apparently she thought he did nothing throughout the entire story). Maybe a little older child for this one. The pictures are very nice.

Such a great book! Perfect for little one's beginning integration of a healthy concept of sanctification. Will also be very useful as they grow and understand their own spirituality more and more.
I highly recommend it!

I for one, really appreciated the message in this book. Simple but meaningful. The illustrations are pretty, though I usually prefer realistic pictures.Very nice!

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting story. September 2, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The art of this book didn't really interest my children, ages 3 and 5. I though it was unique. I felt like the story was trying to convey a message about God. That's not a bad thing, but I personally like to know about such messages because we are not Christian. However, it can be adaptable. Overall the message that I picked up from it was "do whatever you can to be like everyone else, but ultimately you are not the one who determines that. "

The story about growing is sweet and well illustrated but based on the glowing reviews I thought it would be a little more profound. Still my kids enjoyed it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Hate the message
Christian book w/out warning. Message is dreadful. Work hard and ask for help - only from a spider, not friends/family/fellow leaves - you will fail. All is worthless. Read more
