"A timeless lesson that is beautifully illustrated both verbally and visually." --Readers Favorite

"So many children and parents could benefit from the wonderful message of this book - you are beautiful and wonderful and have promise...even when everyone around you tells you otherwise. Even when you are born into a harsh world. Even when others put you down every time you try to succeed. And there is a rose garden for you somewhere." --Beautiful Books for Children

"The Whimsical World of Sheri Fink children's brand is an excellent resource for award-winning and quality children's books that encourage actions of tolerance, acceptance, and, perhaps the hardest lesson to be learned of all, staying true to the core of one's self." --Jack Canfield, co-creator of Chicken Soup for the Soul & NYT Best-selling author of The Success Principles

I've read The Little Rose three times, like it more each time, and can hardly wait to share it with children, who will absolutely love it! Bound to become a classic, The Little Rose teaches strong values on a deep level, while being a pleasure to read. It's the perfect bedtime tale to share with your child when he or she comes home from school or socializing with bruised feelings. And it's just the right story to gently teach any child that bullying is pointless, that it's so much more fun to embrace joy, love and gratitude! The writing is as beautiful as the illustrations; bother offer thoughtful details, yet leave room for imagination. The Little Rose makes a great gift for adults as well as kids. It's a treasure you will want to share.

The Little Rose is not only a heart-warming book, it is also a happy tear jerker with lots of wisdom embedded in every page. This book reminded me so much of my experience growing up in extreme poverty and plenty of "lacks in my life." Many times I felt like giving up or like I'd never be good enough. Just like the little rose I was laughed at, I was teased, I was ridiculed many times by other people, both children and adults. With patience, strong determination, perseverance and gratefulness for who we truly are, a similar path to the little rose awaits us all. The Little Rose reminds us to appreciate what we have, change our environment as needed, welcome change and simply believe in ourselves and we will flourish and bloom like The Little Rose. I highly recommend this book. Greatest gift you can give to someone is the wisdom of The Little Rose book. It also reminds us how a little act of kindness has a ripple effect in the life of all living things be it a rose, a neighbor, a friend or a stranger.

The Little Rose is a great story about making the best of the situation in which we are and includes our all to human reactions to adversity. It is a strong positive message for children, and adults too, that while your environment has a huge influence on you, that true beauty and confidence comes from within. Ms. Fink is an inspiring writer and the illustrations are lovely. I highly recommend this book!

This is such a wonderful book for young children because it addresses so many feelings that kids struggle with, especially after they start school. It is beautifully illustrated and the text discusses things like bullying, feeling out of place and different from others. Children and parents alike will enjoy reading this one again and again.

'The Little Rose' by Sheri Fink is a wonderful story about a small rose that discovers her true value.

The story details a small rose that is growing along side a road and amid a bed of flourishing weeds. The rose doesn't know her place among the weeds and she becomes sad and depressed because of the cruelty and negative attitudes of the weeds. Eventually, a lady discovers the rose and takes her to a more suitable home.

My favorite part is when Fink writes, "When the Lady went inside, the Little Rose opened her eyes and saw that she was in the front row of a flowerbed in the Lady's front yard. She wasn't crowded in like she had been previously. In fact, she had a delightful spot right in the afternoon sunshine with plenty of room to stretch out and grow."

'The Little Rose' will teach children many valuable lessons which include surrounding yourself with positive people, recognizing your potential and the power of a positive attitude.

The Little Rose had the opportunity to spend time with the negative weeds and the beautiful roses and the different experiences demonstrate how a life can be greatly influenced by simply taking responsibility for your life and not letting others dictate your future.

Another one of my favorite parts is when the author writes, "Just as the Little Rose began to wonder about how she would fit in, the other roses began doting on her. They thought she was beautiful and were happy to have her in their flowerbed. The roses spent their days admiring the sunshine and befriending butterflies and birds. They were much too busy enjoying life and feeling gratitude to criticize and compete with each other.
