Review

This book really isn't a book at all - it's a box! Actually, it is quite literally a little box of socks. This box contains 20 pattern inserts and one insert on special techniques.
Each sock pattern has it's own glossy folded card and has all the instructions you would need to knit the sock (cuff, heel flap, gussets, toe, etc.). And, these cards seem pretty sturdy. They would definitely hold up much better than all the folded up patterns that I end up throwing in the bottom of my knitting bag!

There were lots of socks that I think I would enjoy knitting in this book. My faves include Lace Rib Socks, Slip Stitch Cable Socks, Faceted Rib Socks (which seems to be the popular one on Ravelry) and the Small Wings Socks.

This book is for a knitter who has some experience knitting socks. Like I said, there is one insert for special techniques, but if you have never knit socks before, I would recommend trying a different pattern or book (and then moving on to this one). I think a lot of these patterns are easy and not too complicated, which is perfect for someone who wants more experience with sock knitting but isn't quite ready to knit Twisted Flower or something. --Jennifer Hansen, knittinglikecrazy.blogspot.com

The last thing I need is another sock pattern book, but I just couldn't pass this one up. It has socks for every skill level and gives many, many, many options for working with hand-painted yarns so they don't "puddle" into blobs of color. Those patterns alone are worth the price of the book. There are even more great patterns, though. Lace socks, felted socks, Fair Isle socks, you name it, this box of sock patterns has it. As soon as I got my Little Box of Socks, I found one of the patterns to be just perfect for some very persnicketty sock yarn I have - the pattern will work beautifully with it - and the socks are already cast on. Talk about motivating! Even if you own every sock book there is, this Little Box of Socks is well worth having for its own unique designs.

I just received this great little box of sock patterns and I already have planned a few projects using some of my special single and multi colored hand-dyed stash that I've been hoarding while waiting to find patterns worthy of using it on. There are so many great patterns in this "box" with lots of really interesting textures. I love how each pattern is on a separate folded laminated card which is great for those of us that keep sock projects stashed in our purses for on-the-go knitting.

I love my little box of Socks patterns. I picked one out right away after getting it and started knitting. I can't wait to pick the next pattern. There are so many great patterns and very easy to follow. I use a highlighter to mark my spot on the pattern and it wipes right off when I'm done. For anyone who likes to knit socks, this is for you.

I absolutely LOVE the patterns in this box. This is a very nice little box of sock patterns that travel very nicely. Since socks are such portable projects, the patterns in this box fit that motif very nicely. There are patterns in this box for the new, intermediate, and experienced sock knitter that will keep you knitting happily no matter where you are traveling to. Each pattern card is also laminated which is great because it keeps the pattern from getting ruined. This is a must have for every traveling sock knitter :)

I came across this wonderful little box of sock patterns while visiting a friend a couple of months ago, and I couldn't put it down! I always have a pair of socks (or 2) on my needles, and the patterns in The Little Box of Socks offer a ton of inspiration, along with some new techniques for heels, etc. I highly recommend it to anybody who is tired of knitting the self-striping socks and calling them 'good enough'. The socks knitted from these patterns rank right up there with those offered in expensive boutique stores!
