Colbie Caillat's "Little Things" is the latest single (after "Realize" and the awful "Bubbly") to hit America's Top 40. "Little Things" has an upside- Caillat is practicing abstinence as far as her hiccupy singing style is concerned. No more "realiiiize" or "faaaace." It's a pleasant enough song, but it's forgettable. You'll be spared a faux folk rock earworm. "Little Things" is perfect background music for a primetime drama,a "reality" show like "The Hills" or your local Starbucks. It's perfect for getting a little espresso... but it won't perk you up.
