As a catholic I'm glad that Wyatt North is publishing the biography of the Church Saints. This is a well written book, with an excellent introduction and a very handy interactive table of contents. It is inspiring to read the biographies of this two powerful saints that left an unforgettable mark In the history of the Church. The contrast between the humble Francis and the miracles worker St. Anthony is fascinating to read. I highly recommend this book to Christians of all denominations.

Another great book by Wyatt North! I find it important to learn about common people who have done extraordinary efforts in their lives to serve others, especially those in great need. It helps one keep focused in an otherwise material and relativity-filled world. Thank you, WN!

The Lives and Prayers of Catholic Saints: Volume I (Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Anthony of Padua)gives us the biographies of two of the Church's greatest saints in a book that is comprehensive but still quick and easy to read. Both lived lives of austerity and simplicity that are still examples for us today in a world where we are constantly advised that we need a newer and better version of everything we own.

They were contemporaries, St. Francis (1182-1226) was founder of the Franciscan order and St Anthony (1195-1231) joined the Franciscan order in 1220. Besides giving us the details of their lives as preachers, teachers, and miracle workers the book also gives us a glimpse of their childhoods and families.

The book contains prayers written by both saints and prayers to them. The prayer Instrument of Your Peace by St Francis is one of the most widely quoted prayers ever. And of course everyone prays to St Anthony when something is lost.
This is another excellent book by Wyatt North.

As a non-Catholic the lives of the traditional saints are not well known to me, even thought their names and vague reputations are. This filled in the gaps a bit for me, especially for Francis. The process and validity of the canonization process, especially in the far past, is still strange to a modern Protestant but this was a good
Primer on some of the ways it was done long ago.
