Book Description

--Selected by Suspense Magazine as one of the best thrillers of 2013--

For fans of Dan Brown and Clive Cussler, THE LOCH NESS LEGACY is a "fantastic read" (Graham Brown) that "delivers an adrenaline fueled thrill ride" (Allison Brennan).

BOOK DESCRIPTION:
1827 -- During a trek to Loch Ness, Scotland, a young Charles Darwin encounters a mysterious and terrifying creature that provides a spark for his evolutionary theory.

2013 -- Almost two hundred years later and across the Channel in Paris, the Eiffel Tower is under attack. Only through detective work, intuition, and a judicious application of high-tech weaponry does former Army combat engineer Tyler Locke prevent a massacre.

What Tyler doesn't know is that the assault is just the beginning of a conspiracy so dark that it not only threatens the lives of those he loves, but could also ignite World War III. Racing against time to uncover Darwin's centuries-old secret, he must solve a series of cryptic clues to find a manuscript that has been so cleverly hidden it hasn't been seen since the Victorian age.

Tyler's quest takes him from the bustling tourist hotspots of Seattle to the splendor of Versailles to the remote Highlands of Scotland in a battle to reveal the shocking truth behind the legend of the Loch Ness monster.

*** Tyler Locke's first three adventures are also available!

"Boyd Morrison's Loch Ness Legacy is a fantastic read: part mystery, part thriller, part scientific exploration. Like his character, Tyler Locke, Morrison is at home with high-technology, the latest gadgets and the weaving of great escapes from the most dangerous of perils. Both are up to the challenge here, as the world faces a new danger from its warlike past, one that leads eventually to Scotland, the lake known to so many and the legendary creature that may haunt its dark and foreboding waters."
—Graham Brown, #1 NY Times bestselling author of THE EDEN PROPHECY and DEVIL'S GATE

"A quartet of heroes worth cheering for, an enemy as sinister as they come, secrets from the past, more action that you can shake a broadsword at and the Loch. Ness. Monster! What more could you ask for in a thriller? Loch Ness Legacy is a perfect storm of history, science and action that is sure to please anyone with a pulse, and maybe a few without them."
—Jeremy Robinson, bestselling author of RAGNAROK and ISLAND 731

"The Loch Ness Legacy starts with a bang and delivers an adrenaline fueled thrill ride to the very end. Tyler Locke is my new favorite hero! If you like Dan Brown and James Rollins, you'll love Boyd Morrison."

Review

[The Roswell Conspiracy is] a tense and heart stopping thriller...the action never lets up. James Becker, bestselling author of The Nosferatu Scroll As thrilling as it is smart, The Roswell Conspiracy is a full throttle adventure from first shot to final word. Just check your gun and parachute, take a deep breath and jump in to a whole world of history, deception and thrills. This is fast, fun and fascinating thriller writing at its most original. Sam Christer, bestselling author of The Stonehenge Legacy Morrison's novel is a very contemporary take on this murky affair that is both intriguing and a rip-roaring thriller in its own right. CHOICE magazine on The Roswell Conspiracy

5.0 out of 5 stars Judy July 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Boyd Morrison has done it again. Another action packed page turner, from the second paragraph to the end. The twists and turns of this book are genious.

What a fun subject matter, the Loch Ness Monster. Is it real or not? The story he tells that involves this legend, is quite interesting and leaves you on the edge of your seat .

The dark secrets of the Nazi regime become vital to saving the world from another World War. How can the legend of Loch Ness be pertinent to this story? Pretty brilliant how Boyd Morrison weaves these 2 worlds together.

After reading all of Boyd Morrison's books, he has not disappointed in his latest work. Another book that you can't put down. What a great read!

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed July 31, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I will read anything about Loch Ness. I believe there is really something there and Nessie is real, some sort of Plesiosaur.

The plot of this story is fair at best. The action is predictable and repetitive. The protagonist, Zim, pursues Tyler to stop him from finding the cure for the deadly poison Zim's brother released at a meeting of muslim leaders in Paris, France. The point being that the deaths would be blamed on Israel, fuelling a war to destroy the Jewish people.

The plot is ok, but the telling of the story becomes repetitve to the point of making me ill. I almost wanted to tear the pages out of the book as I neared page 250, wanting to never, ever hear how Zim and his followers set another trap for Tyler. I just wanted to end this story at that point, period. How many times can luck and fate assist evil and not make you mad enough to want to tear pages out of a book. That is the dilemma I encountered. I persevered and finished the book without undue violence to it.

I believe the book could have, should have been much, much better in the telling. If you enjoy books from the author, Boyd Morrison, then buy it, but be advised the repetitive portion may detract from your enjoyment. Would I buy any other books by this author? I do not think so.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not up to Morrison's Usual Standards October 31, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have been a fan of Boyd Morrison's ever since I came upon his novel "Rogue Wave" and have read everything he has written since then. I found the Tyler Locke novels exciting, action-packed and well-written. However, I did not find that with this novel. It feels like it was rushed to production. The writing was not good with huge swaths of the story told in single paragraphs. I felt the entire back-story could have been a novel in itself and that may have helped this one, but we'll never know. If you like Boyd Morrison, be prepared to be dissappointed with this book.

I will not desert Mr. Morrison, everyone is off their game at some point. I just hope his next novel is back to his usual standard.

You might enjoy this book if you are not distracted by bad grammar, incomplete sentences and major characters of jarringly inconsistent gender. One major character is described at length as a woman but later in the book is frequently called "he" in other sections its "she" again. This author could have used a good editor!

2.0 out of 5 stars A very silly book February 5, 2014
Format:Paperback
I kept going with this book only to see if it could get any worse. And it did.

It is filled with unbelievable one-dimensional characters that get in ridiculous situations and managed to escape each and every one with the skill of a 1950's cliff-hanger TV series. A mish-mash of a story with Nazis, Neo-Nazis, Arabs and Israelis preparing for war and (surprise, surprise) the Loch Ness monster. Throw in Darwin and there you have it. About the only thing that rang true in this book was the fact that the author managed to place Edinburgh castle correctly in Edinburgh.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a wild ride! July 3, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
As a big fan of the Tyler Locke series, I downloaded this the second it became available. I was NOT disappointed. The book grabs you right from the beginning and takes you on a wild ride from international destination to destination (don't want to give anything away), culminating in an action packed finale on Loch Ness. Mr. Morrison knows how to give details that draw you in without making you want to tune him out (as some authors do). It has something for everyone. Technophiles, weapons aficionados, travel/historical enthusiasts, cryptozoology and biology, art and yes, even romance! The book stands alone, but you will certainly want to read all his books and each one is just as amazing. Sadly, now I will have to WAIT until inspiration strikes Mr. Morrison again. Great job sir, great job <3

3.0 out of 5 stars Lock Ness Legacy August 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Okay quick read, I was expecting an intrigue taking place primarily in Scotland and specifically on the
Loch Ness, however the story ends in a too little too late sojourn on the Loch and Nessie plays an all too small role in the thriller. Locke and his group seem almost too inept to end up surving their quest for an antidote to a poison that Nessie can provide. Their efforts to connect the dots and find the exact spot and way to get a DNA sample from Nessie is not quite the DaVinci Code if that was the play book the author was aiming to emulate. The white supremacy plot did not hold together well nor truly make a good deal of sense.
