This book was available as a free download while I was looking for something else. This "book" reads like a community college term paper. The author employs vague and specious reasoning and doesn't cite any sources. Here's a sample paragraph of what you'll be treating yourself to if you purchase this book:

Apart from negatively affecting your health, loneliness can also ruin your social life. [Yes, I believe that "loneliness" is indeed a social deficit.] Lonely people tend to value material things more than they value people. [Hmm ... what? Is there any sort of reference to this claim, or even logical coherence, or is the author just making it up as he goes along?] This material addiction leads to more dire social deficits. [The author appears to be asserting some sort of cyclic causality between loneliness and material obsession?] They will slowly suck you in until you are way beyond redemption. [The author has simply abandoned any pretense towards clinical terminology or academic rigor at this point...] When that happens, a lot of lonely people resort to suicide. [Uhh ... statistics, causality ... never mind.]

This book is horrible and I suspect the five-star reviews are fake. Buy any book other than this one.

I went out with the same boy for two years. We did everything together. When we broke up, it was as if I had lost half of myself and crumbled to dust. There is NOTHING worse than loneliness. Most people at some time in their life suffer from this awful malady and, should they be so lucky as to get their hands on this well-constructed, occasionally witty and extremely helpful guide, then that bleak and despondent period will, I guarantee, pass more quickly. You cannot cure loneliness. But you can learn to deal with it, overcome it and build yourself anew.
