One of the best written, well researched books I have ever read.
There is a virtual cornucopia of information presented here, and Ryan's approach is scrupulously faithful to the facts, all of them, regardless of the source.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who has an interest in WWII, or has read any of Mr. Ryan's other books (A Bridge Too Far, The Last Battle).

Excellent book. Reminds me of the price men paid in wresting Europe from the Germans. Sometimes war is necessary to save FREEDOM unlike the political nonsense we've seen since.Published 9 days ago by William Weekley
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I like the idea of documenting so many individual recollections for that special moment in history. A very good read indeed.Published 10 days ago by Amazon Customer
