Do you have a "Magnificent Obsession" for ALL things in God?

Yes or no?

If no, then I counsel you to read this book.

If yes, then I counsel you to read this book.

Here's what is wonderful about The Lost Art of Pure Worship - it is comprised of the knowledge and experience of several writers; bringing their unique backgrounds and perspectives to the subject of the art of worship.

You may be surprised to learn a thing or two about what exactly worship is - from a biblical point of view. Hint: it's not only music!

Worship also has more than one purpose - it certainly is NOT about passing the time until the pastor speaks. You'll learn about how King David set a new benchmark for worship that is followed to this day.

One chapter illustrates how worship can plant living seeds into the lives of people who may not even know the Lord yet. Another chapter discusses how musical worship has evolved over the years with each generation. This was certainly an eye-opener to me.

Anyone who has heard James W. Goll sing in person knows how passionate he is about praise and worship - so this book is worth reading for that alone!

As a bonus there are lyrics to several hymns and contemporary songs at the end of each chapter.

The Lost Art of Pure Worship is a solid roadmap guiding Messianic and Christian Believers to the on-ramp (worship) of a highway predestined for glorious encounters with Abba Father, Yeshua Jesus and the Holy Spirit (Ruach ha Kodesh).
It's a trip worth taking.

I received a free ebook from Destiny Image. I am never let down by a book written by James Goll. You can catch the hunger for God not only from him, but from each and every author in this book. An amazing read, which leaves you hungering for more and more of God. Great job to everyone involved with writing and publishing this book. I will definately be keeping this book, as I will return to it many times for a repeat for some of the great Golden Nuggets that are within it's pages.

The Lost Art of Pure Worship was written by James Goll, in concert with (pardon the pun), Chris Dupre, Feff Deyo, Sean Feucht, Julie meyer, and Rachel Tucker. All had a hand in writing one or more chapters of the book. James Goll is the president of Encounters Network, International Prayer Storm, and founder of G.E.T. School of the Heart. Chris Dupre worked alongside Mike Bickle, establishing the International House of Prayer. Jeff Deyo is a full time faculty member at North Central University, and was the original lead singer in the band Sonic Flood. He is the founder of Worship City Ministries, and the Pure Worship Institute. Sean Feucht is the founder of the global worship and prayer Burn 24-7. Julie Meyer is a prophetic worship leader and songwriter at the International House of Prayer. Rachel Tucker is a singer/songwriter, along with her husband in their band, August York. Just as denominational walls must fall in order to enter "pure worship", I think more than ever, the God we serve is bringing cooporation and collaboration into the Body of Christ.

The book hits a bullseye with "For the Audience of One." That's the start of pure worship. (And the middle and the ending too!) We don't DO worship, we BECOME worship. Our entire identity is being supernaturally loved as a son or a daughter. Matt Redmon is quoted: "Though overwhelmed by many troubles, they (the persevering worshippers) are even more overwhelmed by the beauty of God."

Julie Meyer tells about being invited to a cathedral in Singapore. She was advised to tell her worship team to play their instruments really loud or they would be drowned out by the people from many nations present as they sang. The host pastor said: "Do you see the people on the first seven rows?

Basically, I loved it--knew I would.

This book actually has six authors or contributors. That is not a bad thing, especially in this case. Sometimes when there are multiple authors it feels like each chapter is a separate essay and feels totally disjointed. This book did not!

It did not "flow" as much as it could have if it had only one author but it came extremely close! There was more than a thread of continuity but there was a unity of spirit and a clear progression of the topic. Considering the number of authors involved I thought that part was excellent!

This book is about worship, so of course it tells you some things to do in that regard but it is also much more than that. The Lost Art of Pure Worship will renew, freshen and deepen your hunger for God. Who doesn't want that?

Everything from James Goll carries what I call a "holy desire anointing". I would call Mr. Goll "salty"--very salty. You know, like when you go out to eat and have something very salty like a bowl of soup and then shortly after that you feel extremely thirsty for water and can't seem to get enough. In the spirit, this is especially good if you know ahead of time that you want to feel thirsty--thirsty for God--and unmistakable as to for what--for God Himself, not merely for His gifts or His blessings but for Himself. That is what I call perfect saltiness. This book has that.

One other very specific thing this book did for me was to give me permission to sing out loud to the Father even if He would be the only one who would enjoy it (which is most likely).

Do you have a desire to worship God more? Do you need to get the desire to worship God? This book will deliver.
