Book Description

**An Amazon Bestseller in Fantasy and Magic**

Note to readers: If you purchased either of the first two previous editions of this novel, then you can update to this new version by going into your Kindle settings or calling Amazon's Customer Support Center.
It has been fifty-five years since the angels of the Apocalyptic War attempted to wipe out humanity. Now a new nation has been built where alchemy is forbidden, and angels fear for their lives as they hide among the mortals.

The city's leaders share one view on the ancestors of angels: shoot first, no questions.

When her twin brother falls into a strange coma, sixteen-year-old Chela Prizeon vows to discover her role among these exiles, the royal angels known as the Lost Immortals.

Chela's only hope lies with the mysterious, but infuriating leader of a rebel group. But can she trust this boy, someone who can control her dreams and her heart.

Escape into a world filled with celestial creatures, fascinating villainy, high-stake choices, and forbidden romance.

Book Two: When Silver Moons Rise, is now available!

What reviewers are saying:

"I fell in love with this story right away. The author's writing is so expressive, it wasn't hard to fall into her world and get wrapped up in the mystery and suspense surrounding Chela." - Addicted to Reading Blog Spot

"It is heavily intriguing and a wonderfully written story about Seraphim, Cherubim, the Caduceans and the Tainted. Her world seems almost magical in thinking that there is a world beyond what we know and perceive. I'd tell you more, but this is one I would recommend reading to get the whole story first hand." - Picked by Poison Reviews

"KLeigh's Angels are spectacular! They are hardly feathered but more like those warrior angels from the movie Legion (2009). This is not a Nephilim story either, KLeigh created a world of her own, she owns Corunum the same way Suzanne Collins owns Panem (Hunger Games). That's how vivid and detailed the story is." --Talk Supe Blog Spot

About the Author

Author of the Lost Immortals Saga and the Seraphine Trilogy. I'm also a mother, blogger, reader, gardener, home renovator, and a slayer of Egyptian mummies in Tomb Raider. I believe in karma, coffee, and seriously wish that the producers of Xena would bring my favorite show ever back.

Strange things about me: everything. I am strange, odd, unusual, and generally tend to make people think I swooped down from another planet. I don't know. Maybe I did. Who knows? I'm also a member of the #zombiesurvivalcrew on twitter. So if you need protection from the undead then don't hesitate to call on us.

I was born in the race-car city of Charlotte, NC, and now live in the City of Alchemy and Medicine, NC, when I'm not hanging out in Bardonia (Lost Immortals). Most of my characters are based on people that I've met throughout my travels and adventures. People tend to stop and start conversations with me as if I've known them my entire life. Does this freak me out? Not really. My mom says that one day I'll get kidnapped by one of them. I told her that if it weren't for these lovely people then I wouldn't be able to create the stories that I do.

I have many favorite authors but there are some who truly rock my socks: Octavia Butler, Anne Rice, Kami Garcia, J.K. Rowling, Dean Koontz (on his good-book days), Stephen King (same as DK) Ann Radcliffe, Mary Shelley, Elizabeth Kostova, and so many more...

Some other common tidbits...hmm. I've watched the movie Under the Tuscan Sun almost 200 times. Seriously, the way I see it is if I keep watching it enough, then suddenly the house that Diane Lane lives in will magically appear in my backyard. I know. I have a huge imagination!

3.0 out of 5 stars When Copper Suns Fall February 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Boy is this book hard to review. I can break this book up into 2 parts. First 40%, and second 60%

1st Half

The book starts off in full force. We are introduced to a ton of characters, and a ton of future world terminology. I have no idea what anything is, and its not really explained very well. For the first part of the book I was very confused. Because everything was just kind of thrown at me I had to keep rereading parts, and I kept getting the secondary characters mixed up. I was about ready to give this book 2 stars until it hit its stride.

2nd Half

The longer I stayed with the book the better it got. The more things started clicking into place. The more the characters started connecting with me, and the more interesting the story got. The last 100 pages or so saved the book for me. The action was definitely action filled.

I think this book could use work on world building, character building, and general clarity. It was often so fast paced that I just couldn't keep up, which made me not care if I did. Overall though, a decent read once you get through the beginning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Story, written with real passion November 30, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
What makes books for me is the writing, and this story is amazingly written. There are angels, and magic, and a dystopian future, and you think to yourself "This is true fantasy as far as fantasy will go" but because of the writing, you also feel for the characters, and it all seems so real, so normal, and so true. The events in the book are grand and fantastical, but the emotion that the characters feel, and that you feel with them, is very grounded and personal.

The writing and the story caters itself well to the teen reader, but isn't at all out of reach for us older readers. I won't spoil any of the story for you, but read for yourself. This is the start of the next great fantasy series of our generation!

4.0 out of 5 stars Unique World with an Action-packed Story December 28, 2011
Format:Paperback
Copper Suns is a dark urban fantasy set within a futuristic dystopian society. The year is 2067 and it's been 55 years since America was engulfed in the Tidal Years, a great celestial battle that essentially changed the world. As a result the Nation of Corunum was formed, a strict society with rigid laws and customs governed by the iron fisted Tribunal. Conformity is a must for those who wish to survive in the Hill Boroughs and Dim Cities.

Chela Prizeon, our main character, is not your average run-of-the-mill fifteen-year-old. Coming from a society where almost everyone has "gifts" Chela finds herself in the midst of a battle greater than anything she could have imagined. Her tenacious attitude sometimes gets the best of her, but in the end you can't help but cheer her on as she deals with all the obstacles Leigh tossed her way. I fell in love with her story and the two men (or three) who battled for her heart.

Enter Faris, and the one word that sums him up: yummy. He is every girls dream protector. A dark and mysterious young man who is devoted to protecting Chela from the forces who wish to use her for their evil devices, willingly or against her will. As his story unfolds, readers get the chance to discover his secret, one that adds depth to this budding romance. Seth, the second mysterious man in Chela's life, is another delicious character who readers will either love or hate. Yes he has his evil tendencies, but he oozes sexiness, and I couldn't help but want to know more about him. These three characters combined made for one heck of a turbulent rollercoaster ride of emotions.

Overall, When Copper Suns Fall is a book that should be on every reader's wish-list. The worldbuilding, character development, and mystery are all spot-on. My only complaint is that it didn't have a glossary of terms; something I feel might have been helpful when devouring this three hundred plus page novel. It's a heartfelt story with a one-of-a-kind world, and I can't wait to read the sequel.
