There are none of the cliche's and overused lyrics that often clutter Christian music on display here.

I use music as a way to connect with God, take a break, and enjoy life. Matt's music perfectly satisfies my musical taste. I enjoy many Christian artists who match Matt in either songwriting talent, musical ability or spirituality. These groups include Casting Crowns, Jars of Clay, Third Day, Needtobreathe and others. In my opinion, however, none of them match Matt Maher in all three aforementioned categories. This album is exhilarating, intimate and thought provoking. Each track seems both carefully crafted yet simultaneously robust and open-hearted. Every single song is a gem, and frankly that's no exaggeration. As a believer, I daresay the Holy Spirit speaks to me very clearly through this man's creative and physical talents. I highly recommend this album to anyone. So, go buy it!

The truth of Matt Maher's lyrics stands out at the forefront of this remarkable album. There are none of the cliche's and overused lyrics that often clutter Christian music on display here. From the quietest moments on the album such as the acknowledgement on "Heaven and Earth" (the song from which the album gets its title) that "You're all I need" through to the blessed hope of all the saints in "The Spirit and the Bride": "Amen! Amen! Come Lord Jesus, come again!" Matt's love for Christ and the Church He has given us rings out.

Having really enjoyed every album Matt has released up to this point, I have loved seeing the growth in his songwriting and song-style in this new album. While his first 4 albums had a very strong "praise and worship" feel to all of the music, we began to see him pull away from this slightly with some songs on "Alive Again" having a far more mainstream appeal. This growth has reached a new height in "The Love In Between", with a collection of songs that show a distinct love for contemporary rock with a slight country tinge to it!

While "Overflow" remains the Matt Maher album that reaches me most up to this point, largely due to the strong connections it has to the beauty of Catholic worship in the Mass, "The Love In Between" is a beautiful album with a collection of songs that talk about our Christian life and how Jesus is the Love between Heaven and Earth.

Beautiful in its production, orthodox in its message and a gift to christian music and the music world at large, I would recommend this album to anyone who has enjoyed Matt's music up to this point, and to anyone who enjoys contemporary christian rock.

I became a fan of Matt Maher a couple of years ago with his last CD. Was looking forward to the new CD coming out..but had NO IDEA I would love this CD as much as I do. Matt Maher is an excellent song writer; listen to the words in his songs. They are simply amazing and moving. I play this CD all the time at the house, in my car and in my office. It is excellent. If you even liked his last cd a little..get this one and guarantee you will love it. Please keep putting out great music that I can listen to anywhere and share with my children. What a blessing.

We sang a Matt Maher song at a LifeTeen Youth Mass, and I couldn't wait to hear more. That was played by Angus, music minister at Assumption Catholic Church in Bellingham WA, backed by understated, subtle electric guitar, and smooth jazz from the drummer of the band Polecat. All I can say, Matt, is you wish you could hear them play your new album, because it sounds so much better without what Mike Knott called Nash-Vegas production.

Not that there aren't incredible songs here. There are. "My Only Love" ought to be on the radio as we speak, and it would fit nearly any format (not just ccm). "The Spirit and the Bride" is a wonderful paraphrase of promises from the book of Revelation, co-written with Leeland, and in many ways this album reminds me of Leeland's outstanding debut disc, "The Sound of Melodies" Sound of Melodies. "Everything and Nothing" also easily makes the cut, although I'm starting to want less production/arranging, and more Matt and co. cut loose on it. The first two songs get you out of bed in the morning ("Rise Up") and get you through the night.

If only this album were allowed to be as gritty as it really is. What if T Bone Burnett had produced this album in the naked manner of the first Counting Crows or Wallflowers or Los Lobos albums? Everyone knows Paul McCartney released the Let it Be album as "Let it Be Naked" because he thought Phil Spector oversweetened it. But it's nowhere as oversweetened as this album, where someone who thinks rock music requires strings and horns apparently randomly stuck them in.

The Band and Bob Dylan once made an album called The Basement Tapes, on which they played each other's songs.

I really need to listen to music other than Matt Maher's, but other ones out there just aren't as good. I listen to all the CDs in rotation while driving in the car, and my kids are starting to get burned out. So these days I hop in the car alone and drive to nowhere so I can blast songs like "By the Rivers of Babylon," or "Isaiah 61" when I feel the need.

"The Love in Between" is another great CD from Matt Maher. I particularly like "Everything and Nothing," but all the songs are great.

Okay, time to go for another drive...
