Book Description

Unlike many other books on stress management, The Art of Loving Life was written for everyday people and not for other scholars. The information is easy to understand and even easier to apply in your life. Plus, it makes you feel like the author is talking directly to you through the book and wants to support you to a better, less stressful life. How many books do that?

It doesn't matter whether you are dealing with work stress or home stress, these techniques can work to decrease any stress.  This is the little book that gets right to the point of how to de stress. Be prepared to participate in fun exercises to learn what stress is and to learn stress management techniques that work including meditation, visualization and gratitude. This little book is full of useful information. It may be the most useful book you will ever own.

Can this book change your life? It's based on one of my workshops that has changed many lives for the better. You will see a difference in yourself from the first exercise to the last.

5.0 out of 5 stars I don't want to give it back. May 11, 2013
By Stupper
My friend told me she thought I'd benefit from reading this book and loaned it to me. Now I've read it and don't want to give it back! It has a lot of concrete, specific things you can do to manage stress for a better, happier life. While a lot of the information is not completely new, Sandra Thebaud puts it in such a way that it really makes sense and "clicks."

4.0 out of 5 stars Review for "The Art of Loving Life" June 16, 2012
"The Art of Loving Life" by Sandra Thebaud, PhD is a concise, easy-to-read, easy-to-use book. The information is practical and much of it was news to me - the differences between a "stressor" and "stress" for instance. I liked the very doable methods for managing stress too. Thebaud's writing approach is professional yet casual as though she's sitting across from you, helping you go through the process. For instance, she'll suggest you make a list of the stressors in your life and instructs you to put down the book, go do it, and then "welcomes" you back to proceed. It makes it feel less like reading a medical resource and more like having one-on-one help.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, insightful book! January 28, 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book is amazing! The Art of Loving Life is a handbook for gaining increased levels of inner joy. I have read many books on stress and I love this one because it is concise, yet thorough, and a quick read. The techniques are research-based and easy to do. So often we read about how to reduce stress, but never implement the ideas. Dr. Thebaud provides specific examples for implementing the techniques into your daily life and challenges those who believe they cannot get out of a stressful situation. If you follow the author's prescription, your life will be transformed to one with renewed energy and contentment!
