I first saw the Luchagors live in a small bar, and they sounded great. They have a raw, classic punk sound that is faithful to 80s and 90s punk and metal. It sounds like members of Judas Priest, Jawbreaker, and Iron Maiden got together to form a band.

Lead singer Amy Dumas is shockingly dramatic in her vocals, seemingly channeling the spirit of Blake Schwarzenbach, and she's as good live as she is in the studio - to me the sign of a great singer. The guitarist and drummer are both solid musicians, but the bass player, Jay, is absolutely awesome live. He has a style that is nearly identical to Tony Levin. If he's trying to copy Tony, then he's doing a great job. If not, then he's managed to stumble upon an incredible style of playing.

You won't see the Luchagors having dinner with the Pope and trying to solve world hunger, but you'll definitely see them at the top of your IPod playlist titled "Rock-out songs". "White Boy" and "Bastard" are definitely at the top of mine. "March of the Luchagor is also one of my favorites.

If you get a chance to see them live, TAKE IT! They are awesome live and they are a ton of fun. I'm hoping they will come out with more albums and get signed by a label (as long as it doesn't hurt their raw attitude).

Give the album a shot - it's worth it!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gors rock., June 11, 2010

This album is fantastic. All of the songs are catchy in their own way. My personal favorites are March of the Luchagor & Janice, but other tracks such as Bastard & Miracle certainly rank up in the list.

There isn't a song on this record I don't like.

Do not EVER pass up the oppurtunity to see this band live. Amy has such amazing stage prescence, Racci kills it on drums, & Jay and Shane are wonderful on bass & guitar. The band is the total package and their performances are always outstanding. They definitely give a whole new meaning to the phrase punk rock.

You won't regret buying this product if you're a punk fan. I definitely didn't.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, August 17, 2008
This review is from: Luchagors (Audio CD)
I bought this item on impulse for some reason, not knowing anything in particular about the Luchagors or having heard their music in the past. When it arrived I listened to it and the songs were okay, but none of them really stuck with me. I'll probably listen to it again in the future, but it doesn't particularly "grab me" the way that, for example, the Misfits did.
