An entertaining comic mystery,
This review is from: Lucky Stiff, the (Mass Market Paperback)
This novel offers an intriguing look at life in 1940s New York City. Apparently, people drank and smoke a lot. :-o A woman sentenced to die for murdering her boyfriend is cleared and released. Only, she coerces the authorities into reporting her execution anyway. Then she asks attorney John J. Malone to help her track down the real killer. Malone's pals Jake and Helene contribute their aid as well. Lots of creativity and humor here, as these four drink, smoke, joke, burgle, and haunt their way toward some answers.
