I have been a 1911 aficionado for over 50 years and have accumulated all of the major books and manuals on the subject over the years. I recently purchased Walt Kuleck's excellent book on the 1911 and found it to be simply outstanding. It covers all aspects of the 1911 from history, maintenance, cleaning and lubrication, trouble-shooting, magazines, upgrades, holsters, ammunition, and shooting. Well illustrated throughout with excellent photographs, it is simply an excellent book for anyone interested in the M1911 pistols. Definitely a 5-STAR book.

I've bought several books on the 1911 and read articles on it magazines. This book is simply superb for providing an excellent, detailed, history of the development of the 1911 and the various modifications it underwent. It provides excellent detailed photos on how to detail strip it, and how to shoot it. This is simply, in my opinion, the best all-round book on the 1911 pistol and platform.

This is absolutely a great book on the Colt Model 1911. It's jam-packed with useful info on just about every topic you could ask or want to know about these fabulous pistols. Model numbers , ammunition , shooting , holsters, upgrades ,magazines , disassemble , assembly ,sights , maintenance , operation & more ! Even history & selection. Also the small size makes it handy to take to the range. The print is a decent size throughout , a very useful & handy reference manual for the 1911 owner. I highly recommend this book , " THANKS WALTER " 5 STARS !

Recently purchased a 1911 as my first pistol, so I'm not all that familiar with assembly/disassembly/troubleshooting/maintainence of pistols. This book was a huge help in figuring that out and provided a nice history of this model pistol. There was even some good starter information on shooting stances. This book is a definite keeper for any first time owner with the 1911 (it's a lot more helpful than the 1911 teardown manual and owner's manual I got with the pistol).

If you own a 1911 handgun and want a bit more than a military manual, but only want to purchase one book on the subject, this is the one you want. The author's knowledge is above par with the added bonus that his method of telling the 1911 story is fun to read.

The "Complete" owners guide is the authoritative book every 1911 enthusiast needs in their tool box. It's well illustrated with many tips and hints about use, performance and care. I particularly like the cover picture of the Colt 100th Anniversary tierII 1911, how appropriate for this to be on the definitive 1911 owners guide. Thank you Walt for bringing to the masses your years of knowledge and experience. Buy it, you want regret it. Oh almost forgot, awesome history of the Automatic .45 1911.

Thank you again,

Firearms of America
