I am a real fan of the Cave Man Cookbooks and find Matt a very amusing writer. I look forward to each one. This is no exception. Who else could find so many ways to prepare Hot Dogs. Some of them are not exactly what I would eat, but I am certain that man cave buddys will like almost all of them..

I love Chicago Hot Dogs and have not fixed them is forever. We will have them this week following Matt's exact recipe. I love the breakfast dogs and will make them for the grandchildren on the weekend when they are here.

I enjoyed the history in the introduction. It was very interesting.

Buy this book to add to your other man cave books.

This amazing book is everything a real HOT DOG lover needs.

The book contains many recipes for all tastes.

You will also learn some history. What kind of hot dog and hot dog buns there are and also how to cook them.

The recipes are very simple to follow and I like that.

The book also contains abbreviation and conversion tables and a small cooking glossary.

I can highly recommend this book if you like me "Appreciate the Taste".

My husband loves hamburgers and dogs so of course I had to get this book too. He went nuts when I told him about the variety of dogs from Coney Island to Chicago to hot and spicy Mexican dogs. I eat my hot dogs the same way all the time, so I could never have dreamed up or even imagined the recipes in this book. You will truly have a great time with this book - I know we will!

There are some things that conjure up good memories, good times, and in this case good food.
When I was a kid there was one food guaranteed to make me happy and that was "Hot Dogs".

When I saw this book listed in the Man Cave Hotdog Series, I had to have it!

There is nothing about a hotdog I don't love, but if you ask me which my favorite hotdog from this book I'd have to say the "Chicago".
Or is it the Coney Island, or maybe the Mexican hotdog.

Well as you can see I love hotdogs and I really like this simple book. The best thing about this book is that I can pick a new recipe and be enjoying a Man Cave Hotdog in no time at all.

I highly recommend this book.

I've picked up a number of Man Cave books and so I was pleased to get this one as well. Not only do you have recipes, but you get a humorous account of hot dog history to educate while you munch on your dogs. The author describes six different ways to cook hot dogs.. some of which I'm going to try soon. My personal favorites are the NY classic street dogs (AKA Law & Order dogs), the Rueben dog, and the bacon jalapeno dog. Your buddies will be thanking you for days to come.

Hot dogs are a pretty important part of my family backyard barbeques. We are a pretty creative group, but nothing like what the man cave has delivered! I'm pretty pumped about the Reuben dog since they are my favorite deli sandwich so of course it's awesome on a hot dog. Matt's done an awesome job compiling some of the most creative hot dogs I've ever seen (and I've seen quite a few). I recommend this book to anyone who wants to take their hot dogs to a new height!

I love Matt's Man Cave series. But who knew there were so many different ways to prepare a hot dog? I can tell you from experience Matt nailed the Chicago dog down to the celery salt, no ketchup, steamed poppy seed bun and fixings. They are really the best dogs! Others that look really good are the Ale House Dogs, Italian Hot Dogs and New York Classic Street Dogs. Great book!

Other that the possibility of cheeseburgers, hotdogs are at the top of my list of favorite foods. I am quite sure I had my first one at home; cooked by my mother, but the first one I can consciously remember eating was in 1948 at the old Bush Stadium in St. Louis, Mo. (My parents were fanatical Cardinal fans). It was literally love at first bite. Since that time I have eaten hotdogs in every geographical location of American - 39 of the lower 48 states and Alaska. I have eaten them in at least four other countries. Even the worse one I ever ate was actually good and I came back for seconds...well, actually in my case, it was thirds. In addition to this, I have been cooking these things myself for years and years.

Well, if the book being reviewed here has taught me anything, it is the fact that you can indeed teach an old dog new tricks...love puns almost as much as hotdog buns.

Matt Thompson has given me much to think about with his offering of 25 delectable recipes for this most common of foods. I have to admit that some of his culinary tricks were new to me and have enriched my enjoyment of something I already enjoyed greatly. Of the 25 offerings here I did not find one that did not appeal to me. We have actually tried several of them and have yet to have a failure.

There were little thing such as marinating hotdogs that I had not thought of or tricks such as wrapping a potato curly cut potato around the dog. While I had, in the past, tried many to most of the toppings, I had never thought of some of the innovative combinations of these toppings...Blue Cheese? You bet...wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

Now this is a book on how to prepare hotdogs... that is hotdogs with buns.
