This book is very simple. The book starts with what is on the menu. Then the author tells you to buy those menu items and fry everything in pig fat. For example, the recipe for baked beans is go to the store and buy a can of Heinz or Campbell's baked beans. Save your money. Google has all this information for free.

It's a good book. I would recommend it if you have a good amount of time to sit down and read.

Being Irish I have to say that the author does a good job of nailing the traditional Irish breakfast. Not only do you get the recipes, you get background information, handy cooking terms, and a whole lot of extras. If you are looking for authentic Irish breakfast look no further.

The Man Cave Cookbook Series is a hoot to read, but it also has great recipes that even my man cave dweller can make. Very easy to follow even for him, lol. Their latest one on cooking a traditional Irish breakfast is as good or better than the others in the series. The Irish do fry almost everything, so you know the recipes are authentic. My grandmother, who lived to be 92 years old and was Irish, served some type of fried pork dish for breakfast every day. Thanks Matt for the great recipes and the fun read. I was already planning my own traditional Irish breakfast for St. Patrick's Day, but I may make one before Saturday. Can't wait to try your recipe for Soda Farl. It looks delicious and easy.
