About the Author

I'm a life-long fan of paranormal romance and The Man of my Dreams is the first novel in a series. The sequel (Be Careful What You Wish For) is nearly complete and nearing the editing stage. My inspiration for this series lies close to my heart, for I have my own dark haired man of my dreams, Barry. I am also a big fan of the short lived TV show Moonlight and its lead, Alex O'loughlin. Watching this show gave me the push I needed to start writing I am a stay at home mum of 4 children and write whenever I get the chance. Writing is and always has been my passion. My books are for you - my fans, who share my love of romance and everything paranormal. I hope you will continue on this journey with me.

More About the Author

I love everything Paranormal, especially Vampires and after seeing the TV show Moonlight, I was inspired to write my first novel "The Man of my Dreams." I am a big fan of Alex O'loughlin who was the lead on Moonlight and also love the concept behind Dexter, so my hero is kind of Mick St John meets Dexter! Although my books are a work of fiction, there is an element of realism too as a lot of material comes from my own life. Quite a few of my characters are based on real life people too.

I am now a stay at home mum of 4 but write every chance I get, whenever the kids let me! My passion is and always has been writing. Book 2 "Be Careful What You Wish For" and the third book in the series "The Chosen One" are both now available as well.

These characters are very close to my heart and I hope you will come to love them as much as I have.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but fizzled at the end September 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Decided to try this author/story when it was available as a free download. I would have rated it as 4 stars up until the end. Although I agree with another reviewer that the writing was a bit amateurish/fan fiction-ish (and the formatting errors in my copy took away from smooth reading flow), I was quickly drawn in by the story, as well as the twist on the traditional vampire lore. Unfortunately, there were too many critical points either glossed over (um, the "gift"?) or ignored, especially at the end, which dropped my rating to 3 stars.

I realize that the author contemplated a sequel (thus, the cliffhanger) but still, the end scene seemed rushed, poorly thought out, and defied the normal suspension of disbelief for fiction. Likeable enough as a free read but given the plethora of vampire fiction, not enough to pay to see if this particular author's writing/story gets any better.

ADDED 09-09-2012: To clarify, I don't generally mind a cliffhanger in preparation of the next book (setting the stage, if you will), but it bothers me as a reader when not properly done and/or it adversely affects the current book. Yes, books in a series are generally linked together in some way or have a common arc, but the discrete plot/arc of each book usually should be resolved by the end (sort of like finishing the framework of a house before moving on to the sheetrock, plumbing, etc).

The way this book ended, the "cliffhanger" was for this story (which I took as how/why Cassie and and her dream man get together), not for the next (which, based on the blurb, appears to be how their relationship develops within an expanded storyline).

2.0 out of 5 stars Man of My Dreams February 22, 2012
By Jex
Format:Kindle Edition
The Man of My Dreams follows Cassie, a girl that dreams of her savior, or she thinks she's dreaming. It turns out that what she thinks are dreams may be more real then they seem.

In all honesty, it's a bit difficult for me to lay out a summary of this novel as there are so many things the story bounces between as you're reading. One minute Cassie is having sexy dreams and the next minute a serial killer is planning his next move. For a good portion of the book I didn't truly understand how the two seperate stories fit together. It's almost as if the author got so caught up in their attempt to surprise the reader that they may have left a little too much out to begin with.

Besides the jumpyness of the storyline, there seemed to be a lot of missing time in between chapters. One chapter would end and the next one would pick up in a completely different spot that didn't always make sense right away. I understand the need to jump when the story was breaking to a different narrator, as some chapters did, but I felt there was a void between some chapters that followed the same portion of the storyline.

My biggest qualm with this novel was the fact that it didn't seem to have a lot of depth. The characters were a bit shallow, the scenes were a bit vague, and I was left with an overall feeling of wanting more. The storyline itself wasn't bad. I feel it had a lot of potential going into the book. However, the delivery just didn't fulfill me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dream Man September 11, 2012

I received this book as a gift for an honest review ~waAr~

I really enjoyed this book. Cassie is a likeable character, altho things never seem to go right for her, she holds it together and is not some simpering, crying fool that most portray as the normal "damsel in distress" altho i would enjoy more clarification on when shes talking to herself or her "dream man"

it was a very interesting read, and i can not wait to read book 2.

The Review
Well this was Dark but Oh so awesome, OK straight off, there are some disturbing scenes, so not suitable for those that don't like that in a story, I thought it added a lot to the story and without it, you would never understand the background and Why they behaved like they did in the book, Right so onto the review, I loved Cassie's dream man, he sounds like the man of my dreams, I have loved Vampire Stories for a while now, but her dream man differs from most, as he does give in to his bloodlust, but in a very different way, won't say anymore, try not to give too much of a spoiler in my reviews.
