Book Description

'I'm over forty. I don't have a blankie. I have vodka.'

Note: this is not a book of advice, how-to, or self-help. The author deconstructs stereotypes with satire. Totally different concept.

'I write about men, women, sex, & chocolate. My experiences, my truth, my martinis.'

*Note: Thompson employs hashtags (i.e., the # sign) in her collection. Google it. These are not typos, people #deargod.

Looking for a humorous take on family relationships or love and romance? Look no further.

Praise for The Mancode: Exposed -- already a #1 bestseller in Marriage, Parenting & Families AND Parenting & Relationships!

5/5 Star Reviews:

--As a long time warrior in the Battle of the Sexes, I would've won a lot more skirmishes had I had a copy of Mancode in my saddle. Reaching back toward my shotgun, I would've found this collection. Instead of shooting the man, I could've said, "Stop acting like a man!" Buy Mancode and stop wasting bullets.

~ Beth Wareham, author Power of No

--Finally! A woman who gets what I'm going through every day, from that whole spitting thing to my deep abiding love for chocolate. Well done!

~ Amber Scott, author of #1 Kindle bestsellers IRISH MOON, FIERCE DAWN, WANTED

--Mancode: Exposed is a scathingly funny, rapid fire and heartfelt look at men. Author Rachel Thompson delivers a satirical piece that invokes strong shades of Penny Marshall and Seth McFarlane.

~ Casey Ryan, Host & Creator, Cutting Room Floor radio program

If you're looking for satire, love and romance, and sex depicted with humor, buy this book!

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

Can you laugh at yourself?
That's the basic tenet of this book. It's supposed to make you think, make you angry, make you disagree and shake your fist at me in defiance.
And then laugh.
I take stereotypes and deconstruct them with satire. If it's not apparent that I wrote this book with tongue firmly in cheek, then this is clearly not the book for you. Return it, get a refund, don't waste your time.
If, however, you enjoy laughing at yourself and see the humor in relationships, please enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars I gotta say... I Really Liked This One! January 5, 2012
By POIA
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a really well written book which had me laughing out loud innumerable times as I read it. Unusual for a book of this genre, it doesn't disparage men at all, it simply and humorously points out some of the stereotypical traits of men and gives the author's take on them. It is obvious that she doesn't hate men as so many other female authors of books in this genre seem to. She, in fact, revels in the differences between "us and them" and faces the challenges of her committed relationship; i.e., marriage, with the wit and understanding which comes from giving half a damn about the person she chose to spend her life with. Applause...more applause!!! Yea!

After reading a number of books in this genre and being appalled by the vitriolic and obvious disdain (bordering on, or crossing the line into hatred) for men which many of these authors espouse, it was really refreshing to find this book which so eloquently and tactfully (yet humorously) made its points. Oh sure, I can't agree that this book and all its views pertain to each and every man...but there are parts to which each guy can lay claim and hopefully sit back and have a laugh at himself and, perhaps, even learn a thing or two. I give this one 4 ˝ stars...oops...gotta go. I hear the wife calling:
"Honey?"
"Yes dear..."
"Where are you???"
"I'm in the garage reading a book."
"Really! What is it?"
"Nothing..." #Mancode

Rachel Thompson scratched the surface of the differences on how men and women communicate and approach life in her first book, A WALK IN THE SNARK. THE MANCODE: EXPOSED digs deeper into this challenge, citing a wide array of examples that a man and woman in a relationship can relate to - or even men and women who interrelate but aren't in a relationship, for that matter. With her trademark "snarky" take, Rachel keeps things flowing with short, witty essays carefully organized into four distinct thematic sections. A quick read that will leave you smiling (or maybe even laughing) as you go but thinking when you're done.

5.0 out of 5 stars I laughed so hard, I cried! November 30, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This is laugh out loud comedy, folks. Save a trip to your local comedy club and BUY THIS BOOK!

After reading the author's last book, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. She did not disappoint me. The Mancode: Exposed is the bare naked truth. Rachel Thompson is witty and clever. She exposes the truth on men, women, sex, and relationships. Her 'deconstructions' are new perspectives on how we look at the opposite sex.

I found myself relating to so many things inside these digital pages. It not only had me laughing out loud, and getting weird looks from my family, it helped me understand my husband and our relationship better. This is sure to be a bestseller in no time.

If you're looking for great entertainment or you're in need of good humor, I highly recommend this book.
