Colm Toibin's fine novel THE MASTER is an act of art in and of itself.
I bought and read this novel, not so much because it's about Henry James as that is is written by Colm Toibin, one of my favorite contemporary writers.
It is a dangerous thing to write a novel which is a psychological portrait of Henry James, the great master of the psychological novel.
