I thoroughly enjoyed this adventurous read. You feel as if you are riding with these two brothers through the highs and lows of the journey. I am not a rider, but this book made me interested in starting to ride. It is great look inside China as well - the natural beauty, extreme weather conditions, border control, cities closed to foreigners, strict rules or no rules at all, Tibet, police and military police, and the list goes on. I learned quite a lot about the different ways of life within the provinces throughout China. Buy this book.

The journey, a counterclockwise trip around China's perimeter on motorcycle, is incredible. The sights, people, successes, and frustrations, the perseverance to fulfill this crazy idea, kept me turning the pages with anticipation even though the writing is not as polished as it might have been. I enjoyed the photographs which bring to visual life some of the many, many adventures the brothers are having as they share with us glimpses into remote and spectacular parts of China off the beaten path.

A workman-like and dull effort. This reads like a report from some government employee who was assigned to explore China on a motorcycle.

The authors spent a lot of time whining about how hard their journey was. It was an adventure, of course it was going to be hard. I've read of harder journeys without the griping.

The text follows the travels accurately. However I found myself wishing for more vivid verbs, illustrative adverbs, and meaningful adjectives. The language just did not bring to life the motorcycling. Also, the blurb hinted at a developing relationship between two brothers, but i did not sense a meaningful change in their relationship as the story progressed, so there did not seem to be much of a back story. Evidently, these guys did a great job of putting on their travel, but in my opinion, they should have hired a writer to put on their book.
