HOBOKEN HOLLOW
Kidnapping. Slavery. Torture. Murder…

For decades the Broderick family built their brutal dominion with the sweat and blood of their captives. Lured with promises of work and shelter, drifters, hobos and migrants found themselves captive at a modern-day slave ranch instead. Inspired by true, horrific crime stories from Texas and beyond, Hoboken Hollow spins a dark tale of violence, terror and slaughter on the farm.

SECRETS OF THE CLOWN
After the brutal murder of his best friend Jim, Bobbie is haunted by visions of his mutilated body, sinister clowns and graphic nightmares of a murder in progress. As Bobbie begins to question his own sanity and the strange clues behind his friend's death, he summons a psychic to contact Jim. And when secrets are revealed, Bobbie learns the hard way that some are never meant to be discovered…

ROOM 33
Hidden in the woods is an abandoned institution where many suffered horrible deaths. It is also where a group of road trippers are forced to settle for the night, and where someone is waiting for them—Roxy, a deranged, abused girl with a deadly secret. As the institution takes on a life of its own and mutilated bodies are discovered, the group races to learn Roxy's story and uncover a savage killer in their midst.

CURTAINS
The stage is finally set for ""Audra,"" Jonathan Stryker's latest movie, to begin filming. His lead actress, Samantha Sherwood, has been in a psych ward preparing for the prized role…a role that Stryker plans to give to someone else while she does research at the institution.

As six candidates arrive at Stryker's mansion to audition, a deranged murderer stalks to kill them, one by one. Just who is behind the mask, and just how far will they go to make sure the role is theirs?

Why 80's cult horror film "Curtains" is accompanied by these 3 disasterpieces is beyond me. However, "Curtains" had not been released offically on dvd till this 4 pack. It's 4 films on 1 disc. "Room 33" & "Hoboken Hollow" share side A and "Curtians" & "Secrets of the Clown" share side B. I guess if this is the only way I can get "Curtains" on dvd.. I'll take it! I didn't have high hopes for the other 3 films from the start but I gave each of them a fair chance. Here is a rundown for you..

CURTAINS: Frankly, the only reason to buy this set. As several women audition for a major film role, they begin to die one by one. Is one of them sure to get the part or is there something more going on here? The creepy old lady mask score points and the ice skating scene is priceless.

HOBOKEN HOLLOW: Several known actors appear in this major misfire. Don't let the eerie atmosphere fool you. Everything else about this film is way lame. Oh my goodness, the police are working with the town psycho's again, so no one is safe. People in fear of their lives are usually pumped with more adrenaline than these unbelievable characters here. Several times you question why they don't just run when they're working alone in the fields ect. Skip it.

ROOM 33: Cars breakdown, cell phones have no signal, cats jump out and more! An abandoned group of people stumble upon an insane asylum in the middle of no where. The asylum hasnt been opened for years and of course horrible things have happened there. Now, a teen girl with a demonic voice is abandoned at the asylum and when one girl witnesses this odd behavior, she just walks out in the hall and shakes her head instead of getting the hell out of dodge!

If your looking up "The Midnight Horror Collection: Bloody Slashers" then your probably here due to the fact that this quadruple feature contains the 1983 horror classic "Curtains." This seemingly forgotten slasher has been begging for a DVD release for years but don't get your hopes up too high. Echo Bridge Entertainment is a bargain company that I have a love/hate relationship for. Some of their releases contain decent transfers ("Prom Night", "Howling IV", "Ghoulies IV") and some of their transfers are nothing more than VHS ports ("She-Wolves of the Wasteland", any Bruceploitation release). Sadly the transfer of "Curtains" is a full screen VHS transfer, albeit a watchable VHS transfer, so this is not exactly the DVD release you have been patiently waiting for. The transfer is also a little on the dark side so it makes some sequences a little hard to see on but on the bright side there are no compression issues resulting in digital blocking, which is a plus.

This quadruple feature release is a double sided disc that features two films on each side. The other films featured on this release are "Room 33" (letterboxed widescreen), "Hobokon Hollow" (full screen), and "Secrets of the Clown" (letterboxed widescreen). These films were made in 2007, 2005, and 2009 and are nothing more than crummy no budget horror films that are not worth your time. "Secrets of the Clown" is especially bad and looks like a homemade movie. Out of all four of these films "Curtains" sticks out like a sore thumb as it is the only one from the 80's and for the fact it is the only film on the release that actually has production quality. I would have actually preferred to have "Curtains" to be released by itself without the other films infecting the release.

I have the VHS and a DVD transfer of Curtains. It should have been released on it's own, but this will have to do for now. There is such a nostalgic atmosphere to this classic 80's slasher. It stars other slasher girls from Black Christmas, Happy Birthday To Me, and The Brood. The hag on the ice skates and the chase in the prop room are scenes I rememeber watching as a kid. I bought this but really hope it gets the release it deserves!

I remember going to the movies to see 'Curtains'. I was totally in love with. My older sister and I have been looking all over the place for this movie. I did not believe it when I came across it on Amazon. Curtains will bring back so many good memories for me and my sister because I even got one for her too. I just can't wait for it to get here because I am going to have a Screening Party and Curtains is going to be in the spotlight, now my dvd collection is finally complete, now that I have the CLASSIC Curtains. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!

One of the most highly anticipated dvd releases for horror fans is Curtains and just like about 90% of the people who want it, I didnt know it was released on dvd. The picture quailty is good and alot better then what people give credit it for. It does look like it was copied off a video but I like dvds like that. It adds a kind of a charm to it. While it may not be a stand alone dvd, it's probably the only way you can get it on dvd. Just like many other horror dvds, the cover is dumb and not the much better, original vhs cover.

Secerts of The Clown is plain stupid and not worth your time. I'm not afraid of clowns but they can be really good in a horror film but every clown film since 2000 on has been crap. Hoboken Hollow looked pretty good and had a good cast, diffently will check it out. Room 33 i've yet to watch it.

Overall, you can this at any major store for five bucks. I only got this for Curtains and i'm not disappointed by my purchase. Check it out yourself.
