This book is a wealth of knowledge for any Active Duty, Retired or Disabled Veteran. I had purchased the 2011 version and gave it to a fellow veteran when the 2012 edition released. It's a great resource for Disability Claims and it puts things in words that are easy to understand.

As I started ready this book I quickly came to the conclusion it was aimed toward people on active duty. Then I found a good section on getting VA mortgages. On the whole the focus is for active duty personnel.

There was one paragraph on Agent Orange which is important to Vietnam veterans and their survivors. Usually you have several pages describing the different programs and payments available. I see no mention of Aid and Attendance which can be a help to WWII veterans dependents in nursing homes. I see one paragraph on Gulf War syndrome, I don't know if that is adequate.

I would be interested to read a review someone on active duty. From my perspective as a VN vet there are better books out there.
