Do you have what it takes to take lose weight for good? Many of us have good intentions, but when it comes to actually doing what it takes to make that happen, we ignore the facts, acknowledge the truth but deny its seriousness, or acknowledge the facts and seriousness but deny responsibility. Denial, according to Wikipedia, "is a defense mechanism in which a person is faced with a fact that is too painful to accept and rejects it instead, insisting that it is not true despite what may be overwhelming evidence." Denial comes in very handy when it comes to our addictions.

So how do we get out of this trap of denial? You've heard the expression, "You are what you eat." Let's back up a step. You actually are what you think. Why? Because you eat what you think. So what does that mean to you? It means that you must gain control of your mind in order to achieve lasting weight loss. Once you control your mind, you will be in control of what and how much you eat. And when you achieve that, you will soon be smiling when you see your reflection in the mirror.

In this book author Melonie Dodaro teaches us how to use the power of positive thinking, affirmations, and new habits to control our behaviors as we learn to control our minds. I have tried many diets and programs to lose weight. Many books mention that reducing your calorie intake will reduce your weight. It is not that easy. I have been struggling with my weight all my life and I realize that there is no magic solution. I have found that how you view yourself makes a big difference. The ... discusses how your thoughts and feelings can affect your weight loss. The book says that we have a tendency to be in denial when it comes to weight loss. The book discusses the levels of denial, and how we can overcome it. The book covers topics such as braking habits, overcoming emotional eating, positive thinking and creating new habits. Included in the book is a nutrition plan that is explained in detail and easy to follow. While following the guidelines mentioned in the book will not only increase your self-esteem but will help to change your lifestyle and make you healthier. This is a great book, if not the best book on creating a healthy lifestyle while attaining your ideal weight. It isn't a recipe book--unless you consider your lifestyle a recipe--in which case it embodies all of the ingredients needed for cooking up a healthy happy lifestyle.

Melonie not only gives you all that you need to know about how your body works best, she also provides self-analysis, programs, aids and bonuses to help you get there. Melonie believes in you, and helps you to believe in yourself, and your ability to get from where you are to where you truly want to be.

You weren't born with an understanding of how to be healthy--and heaven knows the schools never taught you--but "The MindBody FX Lifestyle" can fill this void no matter what your age. Everyone should be proactive and read this book, if only to understand what you are up against, while trying to lead a healthy yet happy life.
