About the Author

Few writers have been more closely involved with the energy healing arts than Robert Pellegrino-Estrich. His seven years of association with Joao Teixeira da Faria (Joao de Deus), resulted in The Miracle Man - the first book in English about this extraordinary Brazilian healer.

Robert's ability to assist and observe his wife Caterina, a gifted spiritual healer in her own right, provides him with thousands of case files and first hand experience of spiritual healing techniques. His later books The Power to Heal and You're Not Crazy, You're a Medium, are the basis of his lectures and seminars on mediumship and energy healing.

Robert studied and received a degree in Metaphysics, and then pursued a spiritual calling that lead him to study and research some of the finest healers of our day. He and Caterina operate healing clinics in Sydney and Chicago. They also provide courses in spiritual healing and are popular presenters of seminars on healing and on mediumship in America, Australia and Europe. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

More About the Author

I am Australian living in Brazil. I began writing for investment magazines but wrote my first book, "The Miracle Man", after meeting the amazing Brazilian healer, John of God. This medium has been healing for more than 45 years. He loses consciousness to incorporate spirit entities, which use his body to perform miraculous surgeries and cures. Everyone who sees him perform surgeries without anesthetics or asepsis can only wonder at the power that lies beyond our physical lives.

My second book "The Power to Heal" was inspired by my ex-wife, who was also a gifted healer. I received many requests from patients keen to understand energy healing. I couldn`t direct them just to one book so I wrote the ultimate introductory book to energy healing in plain, concise language. This was a labor of love taking six years to compile.

The final book of this spiritual trilogy will be "You`re Not Crazy, You`re a Medium", to assist all those gifted mediums, who hide their gifted abilities in fear of exposure. This is proving to be another drawn out saga, now more than 5 years in the writing! I have the data - I just need the time.

I read this book between my first and second visit to see Joao de Deus in Abadiania, Brazil. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about this incredible healer and humble man. My life was transformed after my first visit to the Casa de Dom Inacio. I went there for a spiritual "tune-up" and was given far more than I could have imagined! My husband is a medical doctor and was called up on stage several times by Joao to assist or narrate what was going on from a medical perspective. One's sense of reality is rocked and expanded when things you think are impossible take place right before your eyes. What the book describes is true. I am so glad this book was written as it is the only book to date written in English about Joao de Deus. My husband and I just returned from our second trip to the Casa and are planning our third. Those with a serious medical problem would do best to stay there for a while to sit in the "Current" of healing energy. Some miracles are instantaneous. We witnessed a paralyzed woman become unparalyzed right before our eyes. The most important thing is to go with an open heart to receive the great blessings and miracles that are an everyday experience there. Read this book first to get familiar with this great soul you are about to visit. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. In Light, Catalina

If you are one, as I am, who is in the process of exploring (questioning) reality, then this is a must-read. And if you are "terminally" ill.... or know someone who is, this is even more of a must-read. This LIVING Brazilian healer performs more miracles per working day than Jesus is recorded to have done in his entire ministry. This man works in front of crowds, with video recording etc. Cases are documented for those who wish such documentation. The really AMAZING THING is that no one has reviewed this book yet.... and that there is only 1 English language book on the man who has healed hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people over a period of 40-50 years and is known popularly in Brazil, Peru.... and has treated successfully many "important" people including the current president of Peru, who awarded him a medal of honor. I though this was the age of information.... how come we haven't heard of Joao? The answer to that is simple: it is just too incredible.... so it is disregarded by most everyone except the desperately ill......

This book is revealing but tends to over sensationalize the House of Dom Inacio. I am a physician of allopathic training and what I saw and felt on my trip to Abadiania has brought me closer to God than I thought possible. The book is the only English translation available on "John of God" works. I would encourage any healer or seriously ill individual to make the trip to Brazil. You will never be the same afterwards! The book tends to give the impression that one can arrive, see Joao (pronounced "ju-ome") and leave cured. It is a healing process and one should at least plan on staying a week to feel the spiritual and physical benefits. I will be returning again! Read this book, then E-mail me your questions and I will try to help. EDMD@aol.com

I was amazed by what I read, and the fact that x-rays and lab exams confirmed the miraculous cures was even more remarkable. Medical doctors have tested and eye witnessed, and yet they can't cure the illnesses by modern medical ways. The author did an excellent job presenting the facts; enough so, that I made a trip to see Joao.
I witnessed first hand and can confirm that there was no fiction in the book. The love, compassion, and joy that this man shares/brings is like none I've ever experienced before.
I highly recommend you read the book and that you go visit him in Brazil. Your life will never be the same.

Although Mr. Pellegrino-Estrich's text sensationalizes the healings of Joao De Deus, the subject of which he writes is true and fascinating reading. The information most pertinent is the deep spiritual and emotional work that is necessary to facilitate our own healing abilities. The book is a good introduction to the work, more detailed information is available on [...] and a bio of the author as well.

I traveled to Abadiania after reading the book and came away a believer. A back injury was manipulated by unseen hands on my second day by an 'invisible' operation. A must read for those interested in the subject of spiritual healing.

The first half of the book was like rafting through the rapids. I would be flowing with the words and then was jarred by the typos and poor sentence structure. I found the book informative, but had difficulty getting the message out of some of the paragraphs.

By the second half of the book I was engrossed in the details of John of God's life and the typos were not as evident.

The book is written with a lot of heart, but the message is not easy to grasp. The publisher should have hired a proofreader before printing.
