I love the principles behind having a morning routine. Some have suggested you don't need the mornings to do all this. No you don't, but I believe it's the best way. The reason is when you go through your daily life, you can't control what happens to you. However you can control how you start your day. So no matter what craziness happens during the day, you've made time to focus on yourself and personal growth. Also it gets you ready for the day. If you feel grateful, do your affirmations, get the blood flowing, and focus on the goals you want to achieve for yourself in the morning, the rest of the day you're going to see the world through that filter.

If you wake up and watch the news, check what your friends are complaining about on Facebook, watch some TV, grab a quick sugar filled breakfast and then head out the door to start your day, then you've set yourself up for a lazy and unproductive. Do that for 365 days and see what happens.

I know because my morning routine did nothing for me. I worked at a restaurant so I didn't work till nights. I'd sleep in, watch tv, check my email, check social media, eat breakfast while doing this, and then do this until lunch time. After lunch, I'd do more of the same until it was time for work.

Hal's book speaks to me like an old friend teaching me the best way to maximize my mornings. I like that he doesn't come off like a guru. He sounds like a regular guy who's overcome a lot in his life and discovered the one thing that makes him able to achieve so much in life.

There's no guessing what you need to do. He lays out a plan for you that has not only worked for him, but his coaching clients.

Hal's done an excellent job synthesizing great advice to live by but there's really nothing new here other than stressing the importance of doing certain daily rituals in the morning.

Silence/Meditation. Check
Affirmations. Check
Visualization. Yep
Exercise. Uh huh
Reading. Got it
Scribing/Writing. Alrighty then

See? Nothing new here that you probably haven't heard before. Hal's just re-packaged it as "the morning miracle." He's even got some great tips for lazy and/or busy people with a condensed version of this program.

I give it 3 stars because, as I mentioned, what's outlined in this book is great advice and a good starting point for someone who may be new to this type of regimen. I personally have found that getting many of these rituals done in the morning can have a wonderful impact on my day. However, they don't have to be done in the morning. You can do them anytime and benefit just as well.

Also, this is probably a book I won't read again, primarily because there are better books on the subject and there's even quite a few resources for free online promoting many of the things Hal discusses in his book. Check out James Altucher's blog. A lot of the same information for free.

Nonetheless, great advice to live by and it will certainly do anybody good to read this type of information.

This book is a MUST read! Out of all the personal development books out there, The Miracle Morning ranks among my top 5 favorites. Hal Elrod's style of writing is such that its almost as if you're receiving sage advice from a personal friend. Every action you need to take to achieve success is clearly laid out with options to customize if you so choose. For anyone looking to take their business, their relationships, their health, or their life in general to the next level, The Miracle Morning is the book that will get you there.

I read and listen to about 3-5 books per week. I am NOT a morning person so when I saw the word morning in the title I was a little bit afraid it would not apply to me or I would not be able to do it. If I go to bed early I still sometimes have a hard time getting out of bed!

I figured maybe I need a better system because we always hear how very successful people get up early so with best of intentions I read the book.

This book does not disappoint as it actually helped give me a proven framework for not just waking up early but what would get me EXCITE to wake up early and what I actually DO when I wake up early.

Often with books I have to read between the lines and try to put together a system from the topic because it is not explicit. Hal did a WONderful job detailing out step by step what he does so I can just follow the system.

Thank you for making it so easy. Also the stories he tells are truly amazing and memorable so I can definitely see myself remembering a lot of the tactics he mentions for the long haul.

Highly recommend getting the book.

I am not much of a morning person, and when I came across this book, I was certainly skeptical of how it would affect my life. Little did I realize that my life would be transformed entirely with just 6 minutes of focus every day. My life was incredibly bland and dry. I would wake up, check my emails, eat a small breakfast, and go to work. I did this every day for years, and I never felt as if I were making any progress in my life. I didn’t realize it, but I was in a rut. My work life was unproductive and filled with laziness. I was complaining more than I was getting any work done. My relationships were stagnating and I was spending most of my time sitting down, watching TV, and suffusing into my couch. But, after following Hal Elrod’s routines, I feel more clear-headed, vibrant, and healthy than I ever have before. My work and personal relationships have improved in the process.

I’ve also used 27 Quick Life Transformation Tips: Simple & Effective Methods For Making This Your Best Year Ever to help me on my journey. I don’t think any of us can honestly say that we get all of our insight and advice from a single source. These transformation tips have been just as valuable to my health and well-being as the Miracle Morning routines. They have provided with valuable, easy to understand goals that strive for to achieve my desires. One of my goals is to retire rich or with at least enough money to thoroughly enjoy my golden years. I have taken much of the practical advice this book offers and focused on saving my money rather than spending it frivolously on items that won’t drastically improve my life. In fact, you could say I saved money by investing in these two life-transforming books.
