As the flagship artist for producer Irv Gotti's Def Jam-affiliated Murder Inc. label, Ja Rule became one of the rap industry's most commercially successful artists during the early 2000s, working closely with the hitmaking producer and his stable of talent. Born Jeffrey Atkins on February 29, 1976, in Queens, NY, Ja Rule established himself with Venni Vetti Vecci (1999), a hardcore ... Read more in Amazon's Ja Rule Store

The last cd JA RULE put out before this one was a greatest hits cd titled EXODUS In 2005. Before that he had done one a year since 1999. As one of the best rappers of all time and one of my favorite rappers i wondered why the wait. Then i heard about the mirror so i kept checking amazon to see when it would be released and it had a pic of the cover and said available for preorder so i figured it would be out withing a month or two. This was in early 2009. Then i read that it got pushed back. So i checked every once in a while and still the same. Then finaly in august 2010 i was reading something that said the mirror was released as a digital download online only.So right away i looked for it and i found it online being given away for free.I downloaded it right away. What a great cd. i read later that it was released july 31 2009 . That it was sheduled for a 2007 release but some of the songs leaked so JA was just gonna re record it but then just decided to give it away as a digital download. Idk why its on amazon maybe they will have the cd in the future or maybe there charging for the digital download now but im glad to have found a site that had it for free.I own all JA RULE'S cd's and this is the first one i have burnt on cd but thats ok. Well this is a great cd, another classic from JA RULE. Anyone who doesnt want to give this cd a chance is missing out. If you listen to it you will see how good it is. Theres only 2 songs on this cd that arent that good but are still decent. The rest are all great . UH-OHHH and BODY are the two commercial songs check them out first if your thinking of getting this. Songs that stand out are:

UH-OHHH - The first song to be released and made into a video. good catchy song features LIL WAYNE

BODY - good song, catchy also has a video.

One day i said to myself... where the hell has ja rule been? my man was awesome, and because of some stupid beef with em he all of the sudden is gone? so i decided to google him. well i found out that he released a cd via the internet, download only called "the mirror". well i was psyched, i looked all around and found it. i downloaded it and listened to it. after just one listen i knew i had to find out if this cd was ever available? it was, but is very hard to find and rare. this cd is absolutely one of the best rap cds out there today. all the songs are tight, his raps are smart and witty, and the cd has alot to offer. why in the hell this cd never saw the light of day and was scrapped is beyond me? songs like, ladies, father forgive me, judas, ohh uhh, body, damn, enemy of the state, something new, sing prayer for me, and theres even 2 or 3 that didn't make the cd. well i have one for sale, so pick it up. this cd is awesome! the other review is a joke, and hopefully ja realizes that he needs to keep making and putting more music out for his fans. i like 50 cent to but in my opinion ja rule is just as good if not better. just listen to this cd and see what i mean. ++++++ all the way

Ever since 50 Cent & the Shady camp started dissing Ja Rule back in 2002 his career has suffered a whole lot. Saleswise he haven't been able to reach multi-platinum again after that or had any bigger hits out. Ja tried desperatley to recapture his street credibility on the two albums that followed in 2003: Blood in My Eye and then R.U.L.E.(2004), but couldn't do it. So.. Here goes his final atempt at getting back to the top and Im sorry to tell ya he fails again! There's like 2 good songs on this release! "Sunset" with Game and then "Love Is Pain". Don't pick it up it's a waist of money!

Why was this album pushed back?
It was pushed back because its not ready and also the record company does not have much faith left in Ja Rule as far as sales go. Ja Rule's last few albums all flopped. The company lost lots of money on him and he is responsible for all of it. What people fail to realize is that albums are very... Read More
