Disillusioned
Following on the heels of Illusion, indie sensation and New York Times best-selling author J.S. Cooper brings us the second novel in the Swept Away series, a trilogy of dark and sexy romances about a woman marooned on an island with a man who may be her captor.

Book Description

Callista Franklyn's return to her family's mansion in the English countryside stirs up more than old memories of imaginary childhood friends. Callista finds the very real, and very handsome, Nick Dalton in the reflection of her antique mirror.

Historical records say Nick died in 1900, but Nick claims otherwise.

Callista is intrigued by Nick’s claim that the year is 1900, so she investigates and uncovers a timeline of suspicious crimes and enchanted mirrors that link her to the twentieth century. She also discovers that she's falling for Nick, who is condemned to be murdered in August.

As the date of Nick’s impending death approaches, Callista must decide if she’s willing to risk changing history and erasing her place in the modern world in order to prevent the tragic crime and save the man she loves.

3.0 out of 5 stars Juvenile writing January 23, 2014
By SLR
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The concept of this book is interesting but the dialogue is childish and doesn't ring true. I have antique dressers and always wonder what the people looked like who had them before me. I've thought how fascinating, and frightening, it would be to see someone looking back. This author took that thought and expanded it to time travel through magic matching mirrors. That part of the book is a great read...but the dialogue between the two main characters is so childish that it borders on boring and irritating. If you can create your own dialogue while reading you will enjoy this book. Not bad, not great, but a diversion read.
