About the Author

Michael P. Spradlin lives in Lapeer, Michigan.

Jeff Weigel lives in Belleville, Illinois.

More About the Author

Michael P. Spradlin is the author of more than a dozen books for children, some of which have actually been published. He grew up in a small town in Michigan not far from the Indiana border, which may explain his irrational fear of Hoosiers. (Both the inhabitants of the state of Indiana and the movie starring Gene Hackman).

Surrounded by books in his formative years, he grew up loving to read, imagining himself the hero of numerous epic battles and indulging in his favorite pastime, which was smuggling fireworks across the Ohio border so that he could blow up his collection of Plastic Green Army Men and Matchbox Cars.

Michael is the author The Youngest Templar trilogy, The Spy Goddess series, and several picture books including the award winning Daniel Boone's Great Escape.

When not writing, he enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with his family and worrying over the fact that he really should be writing instead of doing other stuff. He lives in Michigan with his wife Kelly, son Michael, daughter Rachel and two dogs Willow and Apollo

This book is one of the worst ABC books I unfortunately ordered. It has unfamiliar characters and subject matter for most of the letters and the illustrations are creepy. I expected them to be cute or at least comical but they are not they r just plain creepy. I couldn't bring myself to donate which I do when books don't meet my expectations but this one went in our recycling bin.

"I'm a teacher and I'll be using this book at my school with the K-2 grades but I'm also buying it for my friends children and just about every 4-6 year old I know. It's that much fun. The drawings are cute as can be and it has a wonderful interactive element to that kids love. Highly recommended."

"I've never quite seen an alphabet book as cute as this one. Delightfully fun and snappy illustrations as Morgan the monster hunter travels the world, looking for a monster for each letter of the alphabet. Each illustration is accompanied by a cute little poem. What sets the book apart though, is that the artist cleverly inserted additional items in the picture that start with the same letter as the monster. So for example while Morgan peers into the A is for Abominable Snowman cave, we find an accordion, armadillo, anchor and so on. Each picture becomes a 'search and find' for kids as they learn their letters will find other objects starting with the same letter, improving their vocabulary and reading skills but most importantly they'll be HAVING FUN!"
