Product Description

Size: 1

The Moon Cup Menstrual Cup provides you with the same benefits as The Keeper, but is made of soft, non-latex, medical grade silicone. Introduced in 2006, The Moon Cup is innovative, economical, comfortable, and environment-friendly. This soft, silicone menstrual cup collects the flow rather than absorbing it, so the vaginal tissues aren't dried out as they can be with disposable tampons. The Moon Cup is recommended for those with latex sensitivities. The Moon Cup can last up to ten years. Size B is for women who have not delivered a baby vaginally CANADIAN customers please note: due to Health Canada regulations The Moon Cup cannot be shipped to Canada.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic product, easy to use, June 19, 2009
I am fairly new to menstrual cups and this is the first one I've tried. If you don't know much about cups I highly recommend browsing through the Livejournal menstrual_cups community to do some research.

Anyway, after all of the horror stories I've read on that site about painful insertion and difficult removal, I'm surprised to find that this cup is relatively easy to use. I had absolutely no trouble inserting it once I found the fold that worked for me. Removal is not as easy but is by no means difficult, just requires a little patience because it takes slightly longer. The stem pokes a bit so I may trim it once I get better at removing it. So, there is a slight learning curve with this product, but it is totally worth it.

I am really looking forward to never having to buy pads or tampons again and I really recommend this product!

Here are some tips if you are using a cup for the first time:

1) Rinse the cup off; it's easier to insert when it's wet.

2) Try many different folds until you find one that works. There's a great video on Youtube that demonstrates different menstrual cup folds.

3) Once it's in, grip the base and turn the cup in a circle to ensure a good seal.

4) When you go to remove it, break the suction first by either gripping the base of the cup, or reaching a finger in and pushing in the side of the cup. If you don't break the suction before pulling it out, it may be painful to remove.

5) You don't need to boil the cup or wash it with soap if you don't want to. Some soaps can cause yeast infections if they aren't thoroughly rinsed off. Bacteria can't grow on silicone, so as long as you rinse the cup off with water, you should be good.

6) If you find the cup is not working for you, it's possible that it isn't a good fit. Don't give up on cups! There are many different brands of all shapes and sizes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bye bye tampons and overnight pads! I've found menstrual cups!, March 29, 2009
I am so happy I bought this item.
I used the DivaCup previously but it had a slit when I packed it with some luggage and sharp items(silly of me) so I decided to order the mooncup and I'm so glad I did because I like it so much more. It's softer, easier to insert and prevents leakage better than the Divacup because it's expansion and suction is better (at least for my shape).

Menstrual cups in general are amazing, I've saved so much money and worries using them. You don't need to worry about having a flow that is too light for a tampon, or worry about moving around when you sleep and have a pad on!
I just insert the menstrual cup and I'm ready to go do anything, whether it means running or just sleeping.

Beginners, it's going to feel weird when you first insert it and you might have trouble the first couple of times, but just splash some water on it and you'll get it in there =] As far as removing it, a tip of advice is to just push outward with your pelvic muscles until you get a good grip on the handle and just pull it out.

5.0 out of 5 stars better for your body, your wallet and the environment, October 28, 2009
A Kid's Review
I am over 13 but choose to remain anonymous. After doing some research online, I read about several different menstrual cups and decided to try the moon cup. At first I wasn't sure if this would, um, "fit", if you know what I mean. The only negative aspect is it did take some fumbling and several different positions, but I finally successfully got it in place by lying on the bathroom floor to insert it. Surprisingly you cannot feel this once it is in place. It is way more sanitary and economical than pads or tampons (chemical soaked cotton, no thanks!) and is an environmentally friendly option. I'm going to tell all the women I know about this.
