A science and technology documentary about traveling to the Moon and Mars providing insights into the requirements for propulsion, provisioning, and the preparation and training of the astronauts to be assigned to complete expeditions to the Moon and the planets. At the beginning of the Apollo Program NASA commissioned a rocket scientist to develop the Matched Conic method for choosing the trajectory to be followed to go to the Moon. The method turned out to have broad applications for the planning of most every expedition in space including an expedition to Mars. While many feel that the Moon should be colonized because NASA has successfully placed men on that planetary body, that same optimism about colonizing Mars is not shared by many others because of much undeveloped research and technology in areas such as propulsion and long term human survival in space.
