This is not an easy album to put under a simple classification like rock album. The band has many different influences and you get glimpses of them all through this singular musical experience. It has a mainly down tempo ambient sound that makes for quite a pleasant listen. Very nuanced and complex sound that rewards you the more you listen to it.

Hundred Waters has done it again! Delivering a beautifully hypnotic album cascading with textured ambiance and under-mounted with pure emotion. On their second album, THE MOON RANG LIKE a BELL, Nicole Miglis (vocals), Paul Giese (guitars, electronics), Trayer Tryon (electronics, guitars) and Zack Tetreault (drums) create an ethereal landscape for its listeners, similar to the likes of Radiohead, Sigur Ros and Beach House. Definitely one of my favorite new albums and is well-worth checking out.

Saw at Acrosanti in Arzona last weekend and really enjoyed. This is not my normal genre but enjoying a change of pace. A nice group of foke, music tight and soaring, vocals intriguing and erie (a good thing), songs deep at times... It works :-)

I loved the first album, but this one is even better. It is very reminiscent of the Cocteau Twins. It is getting better each time I listen.

Better polished and edited than the band's self-titled album, but it loses some of the little creative touches for the exchange.

Good. But given to a modern based comparison to a group like the Cocteau Twins, perhaps this singer is a little too helium based to support the music. Her voice is as thin as Miki Beryeni's of Lush fame - but even more high pitched and gossamer There's good textual detail to the music. A track like Down From the Rafters actually sounded like Kate Bush's early vocal work from the Kick Inside paired with the production chops of 9th wave side of Hounds of Love. I'm still deciding if this is a truly substantive record or more like cotton candy.

This record is a favorite of 2014. These people evolved a great deal from their first record and it really shows. Super excited by this band. It's too bad about that whole Coke commercial s***, but I look forward to see what they will create in the future.
