Here is an excerpt from "As the Snow Falls - Vol. 1", the first book included in "The Muse Sage: Complete Collection":

My best friend just started cracking up laughing. “You know I’m your best friend and would do anything for you, dude….but, I’m not kissing you!” he teased. Hearing that made me laugh and lightened my mood.

That is, until we rounded the next corner. Blue and red lights were flashing near my house. I could see a portly police officer putting my Mom in the back of a squad car. She was handcuffed!

I forgot about Connor and my note from April, and sprinted to my house as the police car containing my Mom drove off. I don’t know when I started crying, but tears were streaming down my face. At first, I figured it was just snowflakes that landed on me, melting. I was screaming, trying to catch my mother. I didn’t know what was going on. As I reached my house, a tall, middle-aged, uniformed officer asked if I was James Nelson.

“Where did you take my Mom?” I screamed, through my sobbing and tears.

“It’ll be alright, son.” The officer told me. “Are you James Nelson?”

“YES! YES! Why did you take my Mom away?” I demanded.

“Because she isn’t your Mom,” the tall officer answered.

That’s all I remembered before I fainted.

4.0 out of 5 stars the muse saga March 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I thought the book was good, and did seem to have the feel just like the V.C. Andrew books. The only down fall to this book was misspelling of word and when he was writing about one character, he actually was using another characters name, in which I had to reread that part over again to see what actual character he was talking about. I also did not like the ending I thought he would go into more detail of what happened(But who usually like the ending of a book if it isn't the ending they like. lol) I have no other complaints than this. The book was very interesting from start to finish and I couldn't put the book down.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disturbing December 5, 2012
By Sue T
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Writing style was poor, story was very short considering it was supposed to be 6 books! I read the first one in less than an hour. I got it because it was recommended as something I may enjoy as I liked the Virginia Andrews stories. However this was really disappointing by comparison. I got Vol 1 for free, then got the whole series because I wanted to know what happened next. Shame it wasn't very good.

2.0 out of 5 stars OK story June 12, 2012
By MelS
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The story is ok. Not something I am going to rave about. To compare this author to V.C. Andrews is a bit of a stretch. The only thing comparable to V.C. Andrews is that they both write about screwy things like incest. This book was newly edited in April of 2012? So there were even worse mistakes than the ones in this "newly edited" version? Whoever edited these novellas should be fird. Such simple mistakes that even my 5 year old could have picked them out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good story April 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed the story with its the many conflicts that occur throughout the the book. It took only a few hours to read through the collection.
I can agree with many that it may not have been worth $10. The collection of short stories seemed more like the end of a chapter not the end of a volume. Each Volume depended on the other for character development ans as such they really could not stand on their own as a story.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Thoughts, Author needs to mature May 31, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Would have rated lower, but feel author has good ideas and with maturity can expand upon all the ideas to have a broader appeal like V. C. Andrews has. Don't feel the book is worth $21. I'll keep checking ratings and number of pages in each book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time June 16, 2014
By Pam M.
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This series began well but any 6th grader with a basic knowledge of grammar could have done a better job editing it. The 1st book or 2 were good but it felt like the author had a deadline to meet and just wanted to wrap things up. So much so that near the end, there were mistakes even with swapping names. Skip it.

I really tried to like this series but it was just one lie after another with the entire family embroiled in deceit. Lots of information and motivation omitted.
