Editorial Reviews

2013 release, the second volume of songs featured in the first season of the hit TV series Nashville. The series stars Connie Britton as Rayna Jaymes, a legendary country music superstar, whose stardom begins fading, and Hayden Panettiere as rising teen star Juliette Barnes. In the series, Rayna James is the established "Queen of Country" music. However, her latest album is not selling well and her tour is playing to half empty venues. Her record label suggests that she open for Juliette Barnes, the young and sexy best selling singer of bubble gum country. However, Juliette, seeing Rayna as washed up, purposefully alienates her and Rayna, who dislikes Juliette's style of music, rejects a joint tour out of hand. The two women come into conflict as both try to get guitarist Deacon Claybourne (Charles Esten), Rayna's bandmate and former lover, to sign onto their tour. The soundtrack features performances from the two starts as well as Charles Esten, Sam Palladio and others.

every bit as good as when played on the show itself....it's interesting how each of the artists' music develops as the TV series expands. a must-purchase for any fan of Nashville.

5.0 out of 5 stars ok March 19, 2014

One of those CD you play some songs over and over and skip some songs because they are terrible. Maybe better to download specific songs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great soundtrack March 11, 2014
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
While I do like this soundtrack, I like Season 1, Vol. 1 better. The is an innovative show which provides a great platform for new music & songwriters. I am not a life-long country music fan but I am now!

5.0 out of 5 stars I Love this stuff! April 16, 2014

Love this show, I think it's genius. The music seems to get better and better as the show goes on. For this album, I think it sounds better than it does on the show. Pretty darn good for a bunch of actors/actresses.

I like this CD. I don't care for a couple of songs but I would have still bought it for the ones I do like. I recieved it promptly and would buy from them again.

All of these Nashville CD's are great. The artists are talented and what you hear is much better than most of what is on country radio today.

No Charles Esten?
Charles Esten does have a song on the 2nd Volume Deluxe Edition available at Target - "Matchbox Blues". There's 5 extra songs on this CD (16 total) and it's well worth the price!

What's With The Short CDs?
More songs. Some cds now have 12-14 songs. Fans have waited for another release. To get more songs you have to pay for the mp3s-unfair. It would sell more with more songs. The cd should have had Charles E on it as well. That is really messed up!
