Editorial Reviews

2013 release, the soundtrack to the second season of the hit TV series Nashville. The combined sales of the previous two releases (which contained songs from the series' first season) have surpassed two million and continue to sell. The series' popularity continues to soar and introduce audiences to modern Country music.

4.0 out of 5 stars why not give us a double cd? December 16, 2013
Format:Audio CD
If you take all the songs released from Season 2 so far it would be a great to have them on a double album. There are 4 additional songs on the Deluxe Edition available at Target and 7 or 8 other singles available that are not on that cd. Why not make it easier on the show's fans and put them all on one double cd? But alas...
Musically, I like the cd although it is rather different from both season 1 discs. Less of Connie Britton (not a bad thing, but they should have included one of her better numbers that is out on single,The Best Songs Come From Broken Hearts). Not as much Hayden Panettiere (just when I was really starting to like her) and only 1 duet between Clare and Sam (Scarlet & Gunner), which were the highlights of season 1. The songs that Clare sings are much less country to my ears than in season 1, which is a shame. The Chris Carmack (Will) songs are the most contemporary country radio friendly and pretty good for that style. Instead of 2 versions of A Life That's Good, they should have had Stella and Esten duet together. As far as I'm concerned, they could have left off the Aubrey Peeples (Layla Grant) entirely. Sure would be great if they would have the character Watty White sing on an episode - especially if he sang a J.D. Souther song... For a full track listing check the mp3 link.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great album! January 2, 2014
Format:Audio CD
I love the way this album has a little bit of everyone on this show. They are all so talented. I can't pick a favorite but I was lucky to get the edition with the Charles Esten song, A Life that's Good -- such a great song. I enjoy Chaley Rose's version of Wayfaring Stranger, a great traditional version. The Stella sisters are adorable and I always enjoy their music. Jonathan Jackson has never been my favorite but he's won me over with How you Learn to Live Alone. Claire and Sam's Why Can't I say Goodnight is wonderful but they never disappoint. I wish people would quit criticizing Connie Britton -- I think her sons are great. The only criticism I can give is that I'd love to hear Will Chase do a ballad because I'm a ballad kind of person. Maybe in the next edition which I'll be looking forward to.

4.0 out of 5 stars Third Album From the Show January 1, 2014
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
If you like the show on TV, you'll like this and the other two CD's as well. Well played and all songs are from first half of the season.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD February 11, 2014
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Great songs. Great music. Great singers and musicians. If you like the tv show, you'll love the album. If you like country music and never have seen the tv show, you'll still love the album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't get enough February 4, 2014
By Josie
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
I love this soundtrack. I love TV themed soundtracks and there are very few that are any good. It stated with Ally Mcbeal and from there I couldn't stop. The music ties into the love and the drama and I just feel like I am feeling the emotions of the characters. The music with Claire Bowen and Sam Palladio is a true testament of loves' ups and downs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get the Deluxe Version December 18, 2013
Format:Audio CD
I really like the songs on this album as opposed to volume 2 of last seasons. My favorite is Chris Carmack's songs, Hayden Panitierre's and even Connie is palatable here in the duet.

If you go to Target, you can get the deluxe version that has 4 more songs. I really liked the duet from Sam and Jonathan.

I can do without the Lennon sisters. They are cute but 2 songs? Really? One is good enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great collection of songs January 31, 2014
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Love the collection, but it is worth the trip to Target and the extra few dollars to get the deluxe version's extra tracks. I could have lived without "Come See About Me", but "Waiting'", "Be My Girl" and Charles Esten's "A Life That's Good" are completely worth it.
