Ordered this 5 years ago, and have weathered all of the updates about 'deliverer date extended' and the false hopes of actually getting the book last month.

But today it's final - the email from Amazon came saying that the book is not available and sorry for the extended delay. The original order (with other items) doesn't even show a reference to it. Gone.

Bummer.

What's The Deal Here!

The publisher and Thompson's family have had plenty of time to sort things out. So I ask, what's the deal here? Are we going to get this released or not. If not, then Amazon should remove it permanently. I've had this title in and out of my wish list for years. Come on already Simon & Schuster, either pull the trigger or put the gun down permanently - no more teasing!

Buy the ticket--get a refund?

Sooo, is this an actual release, or is it another cruel nerve-jerk by the publisher? I've been planning my life around this, the last word from Hunter, for some time, but I thought the publisher had officially canned this title several weeks ago. If so, I guess this comment will simply vanish up the Amazon. I'll rate the item on how I'd hoped it would be.

Some answers please, 8 years and still no closer to owning a copy!!!!!!!!!!!

After countless unanswered emails to Simon and Schuster and the polite but useless response from Amazon I am no closer to buying a copy than I was 8 years ago. Surely someone knows what's going on.Come on Simon and Shuster and Amazon do the right thing for all the Hunter S Thompson fans. I'm not even sure if the books has been published. $600 a copy you have got to be joking.

Book that will never come out

Ive been waiting for this book since the 1st year it was supposed to be out
Ive done a little research and it appears S&S dropped the book so they won't release it!
Hopefully someone else will pick it up
this book must have had some heavy political weight to be put off this long
Maybe it wil be released once it has 0 signifigence to the current times.

No More Games. No More Bombs. No More Walking. No More Fun. No More Swimming. 67. That is 17 years past 50. 17 more than I needed or wanted. Boring. I am always bitchy. No Fun – for anybody. 67. You are getting Greedy. Act your old age. Relax – This won’t hurt.

No more books. No more stories. No more legends. The only thing left is a hole in the narrative. An incomplete document.

It will never have a chance - Res Ipsa Loquitor will never be heard.

It's like Orange Smelling Bergamot. You say one thing but don't even deliver another. OK. How about this: For those who want this book. It's now a P.O.D. Publish On Demand, much like "Keep This Quiet Too" and, my book, from Lulu.com: "Rats With Wings". Will this make all parties "happy"? There is absolutely NO reason to (though I know you owe us nothing) JERK us around. Most of us have ordered it way back when. Just the other day it was listed as 'now being available, 2030'. TWENTY THIRTY!? What kind of....you know? Please! Now the latest is, March 6--10th, 2014 again? PLEASE! STOP THIS MADNESS!! And now the book is 35 dollars? Call it an even 40 and be done. Rlease the bugger. Let's GO! Please, and, Thanks.
