Book Description

A Regency Romance - The legend of the Peckham necklace, a fabled emerald necklace owned by the Archers, foretells death for anyone who dares to possess it. Certainly, it has brought the Archers nothing but heartache. So Oriana is relieved it’s missing, assuming it ever existed outside of a far-fetched tale. She has enough difficulties protecting her uncle—and her heart--from his dangerous new friend, Chilton Dacy. However, when Oriana accidentally discovers the necklace, the curse reawakens. A man is murdered, and the Archers are in desperate trouble, again.

Oriana is now left with a frightening choice, accept Chilton’s help to find the real murderer or face the hangman’s noose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just your ordinary historical May 16, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I don't read historicals that often but am glad I picked this one up. Be ready for a lot of dry wit and humor. Ms. Corwin gives you a generous dose. This is an interesting mix of history, romance and mystery in which the hero finds himself knee-deep in trouble and a growing affection for a woman who thinks she has given up on men.

This was not a complicated story and it kept me amused. I would recommend it for a beach or short holiday read.
