Book Description

From one of the most widely respected dermatologists and beauty innovators comes the most advanced guide for keeping—or attaining—a more youthful face and body without going under the knife.

Obvious face-lifts and Botox overload are passe, now that a new generation of fillers, laser treatments, and topical preparations are helping millions look younger and more natural for decades. Prominent dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon Dr. Neil Sadick explains how every woman, at any age, can have beautiful, healthy skin without a scalpel or surgery.

Starting off with the basics of skin care and damage-prevention we all need in our early adult years, Sadick highlights the most efficacious cosmetic products and discusses the best practices for preserving a glowing, youthful appearance. For older readers looking to maintain healthy skin and reverse damage caused by age and the environment, he reviews the various nonsurgical options available: from the modern day breakthrough of cell therapy to cosmeceuticals, fillers, and treatments for cellulite and hair loss. Throughout he recommends brand-name products and treatments for every budget.

User-friendly and backed by the latest science and technology, The New Natural is every adult's guide to the most advanced antiaging protocol for achieving young, vibrant skin now and in the future.

I cannot believe this physician had the audacity to "write" this book. The information presented can be easily found over the Internet. The comments from the author are simplistic (close to a fourth-grade reading level)and sometimes contradictory. As an example, we are advised to eat protein to get shiny hair and nails where later on, we are told that a lack of vitamin cannot cause hair damage. The style used throught the book is reminiscent of all the popular health books on the market right now: the author talks a little bit about his/her experiences, name a few products and presents clients' and patients' success stories. In addition, it is very questionable this physician recommends some commercial products that are sold by a company for which he is the advisor. Moreover, the reference section at the end of the book reveals that the information in the book is mostly based on data taken from the author's own website. Hardly scientific expertise. I am extremely disappointed and, if the author has any ethics, I hope he will offer a refund to his customers in the near future.

This book was not what I expected. I borrowed it from my library hoping for natural skin care tips and information on spider and varicose veins. It says "scalpel-free age reversal" - I think this is a misnomer as there are many things described within the book that I am sure involve some kind of cutting. I did not like this book it seems like the author is trying to sell pharmaceuticals and surgeries. If you are going to have a surgery and be on these already it would give you a general overview of what to expect which is why it does not rank lower.

I do not recommend this book to any looking for true natural age reversal. If you are going to be taking drugs or participating in an in-patient or out-patient procedure it may give you a basic overview of what to expect or help you decide which route you would like to go if you have numerous options. Therefore, I would recommend it to those that are already on this path.

I've always been dismissive of those women we see with the pulled back, plastic faces. You know, the ones with the cookie cutter, artificially smooth faces on 60-year old bodies? They aren't fooling anyone. But this book gives options for the average man or woman who's turned off by the idea of going under the surgeon's knife. It's saying that you don't have to look 10 years or 15 years younger. You can look good, and perfectly natural for your age. Best of all, Dr. Sadick tells us how. With all the confusing information that's out there about the latest lasers or ultrasound treatments, it cuts through the clutter and tells us what works. He also breaks down what we can do at home, even on a budget, to prevent, maintain and reverse. He bursts the hype and gives us the scientific lowdown on what works, what doesn't and why. For anyone who cares about aging gracefully and naturally, this is a Beauty Bible. Now, a lot of the treatments he recommends aren't alwayas available to those of us who don't live near Park Avenue, or thousands to spend on non-surgical procedures. But at least it's good to know what's possible now, and what may be more accessible in the future. At least he allows the reader to make an informed decision, so they don't blow their money on the latest gadget that's been overly praised in the glossy magazines.
