Product Description

The goal of this eBook is to help you evaluate your practices and processes to make sure they’re helping you fulfill God’s vision for your church. Though you may look “contemporary” compared to the traditional church of decades past, you still can’t hold on to the same practices and expect different results.

Like other eBooks by Tony Morgan, this will take you about 20 minutes to read. The sections hit these topics:

> Discipleship
> Web Strategy
> Music
> Community
> Put It Into Action

The eBook also includes discussion questions to process with your team.

Tony Morgan is asking the questions that someone needs to be asking! It is rare that anyone who is viewed as a Contemporary Church guy criticizes the Contemporary movement. Tony does that with this short work. The fault of the book is that it is too short.

The message of this book is so important that it warrants more than what it gives us. I realize it is only an e-book but frankly I was hugely disappointed that the author did not expand more upon the questions that he asked. We desperately need this conversation and it was simply limited. Were they in too big of a hurry to get this to press? Thankfully the price is not expensive but even for an e-book I was expecting more. There are so many other areas that could be probed. This book will cause some to think and that is a good thing. Let's hope that Tony will use this as a platform to expand further upon his thoughts.

Church - Same as Before? March 24, 2012

Are we doing church like we have always done it, because that is what we know or because it is working? Tony Morgan challenges us to look at church with a fresh set of eyes, to survey the culture surrounding us, and to meet the needs of the people through our worship experiences. He looks at everything from leadership to worship music to your web strategy. The book is a quick read and can be used to guide discussions with your senior leadership at church. I understood the basic tenants of the book, but the book really challenged by thinking and my passivity. I encourage church leaders to check this out.
