There are a lot of details about the various versions of the iPad that are out there, so this is a great book even if you're still in the 'just looking' stage.

The book is very easy to understand and well laid out by covering topics in a concise and methodical manner.

Decided now was the time to upgrade to the 3rd Generation iPad having held off upgrading to the iPad 2, and WOW what a difference. At first I kinda though the upgrade was just for a higher resolution screen and faster processor but it's so much more. How I managed before having an iPad is beyond me BUT no where near as much as how I would have managed without this Fully Loaded series.

Thanks to the tips, tricks and App recommendations throughout the book I'm finding now that I'm only using my MacBook Pro for editing as it seems everything else can be done on the iPad.

Very well laid out and with lots of full colour pictures this book does a superb job of helping you to very quickly get the most out of your iPad.

Apple...if ever you were to include a How To manual..The New iPad: Fully Loaded should be it!!!

Highly Recommended

I recently ordered two other iPad books besides this one, and (not having actually purchased an iPad yet) was disappointed that neither of those other two thought to mention the differences between iPad models or give the slightest advice about storage capacity choices or data plans. In particular I have been very confused to see both iPads and iPad 2's for sale new at the current time, with the iPad 2's being cheaper. I was very glad that this author had enough common sense to devote the very first chapter of his book to clearing up this confusion. He gives a brief history of iPads, explains Apple's illogical product naming choices, and makes at least a fair effort at going over storage capacities and data plans. I say only "fair effort" because primarily it is hard for me to visualize in a graspable way what 1GB of cellular data service amounts to, and he does not give any real-life example to explain that.

At this point I cannot say which of my three books is best at guiding me through operating an iPad, but in my opinion this author has right off the bat demonstrated a degree of intelligence and reader empathy that places him head and shoulders above the other two. In other words, I thought the other two authors were pretty dumb for missing the chance to help (and sell to) a much broader audience. If I had to choose to pay for just one of the three books now, this one would definitely be my choice.

Few electronics products are as intuitive as the iPad. Give one to a small child and after very little trial and error they master the basic operation. But for many who because of their analog history or just fear of all things modern, after unboxing their new device and the initial thrill of ownership, the realization takes hold that they have no idea of how to make it....well, go. This book is their savior. It's presented in a format that is visual, with vivid color photos , making the material completely unintimidating and even fun. The author starts with the most basic and logical questions even for a person deciding which model of iPad might suit their personal needs. It explains the differences in models, memory capacity, screen clarity, wifi with or without a 3G capability. It explains the data plans if you choose to go that route as well as pricing among different providers. There are the basics of how to set up the iPad, lock onto a network hotspot, using airplane mode, as well as setting up an apple store account to download apps and subscriptions as well as using the cloud for safe digital storage.

But even for the iPad faithful who imagined that they've mastered every nuance , they'll be pleasantly surprised to find tips and tricks that will produce a sly smile and new appreciation of their tablet. My iPad, like so many others, has become my constant companion, serving as my primary news source, eReader, weather forecaster, email conduit, research tool, photo repository, dictionary, airline flight monitor, journal et al. This guide has allowed me to appreciate and utilize my iPad even more. Highly recommend whether you're considering buying your first tablet, considering if upgrading is worthwhile, or looking to expand your usage with new tips and hidden tricks.

First, a little background: I just purchased an IPAD 2 after trying to find out what the differences were between the IPAD 2 and the new IPAD to see if paying the extra price was worth it for the new version. Going to the Apple Store did not really do much one way or the other except to note that the New IPAD had faster 4G service (something that I have not use for as I will be using strictly wireless), a higher resolution screen (that only works when the content is formatted for a higher resolution picture, if not then I cannot tell the difference in the images between the New IPAD and the IPAD 2), and that you could not buy memory larger than 16 Gig for the IPAD 2.

If I had only purchased this book before going to all of that grief, I would have had my answers in the first section of the book! The author does a GREAT job of expaining the differences between all of the IPAD versions. I could have saved myself a lot of time with this book.

Ok, so now that I have had the IPAD for awhile and played Angry Birds (just to see what the craze was all about, of course) I wanted to know more about actually using the features of the IPAD. I had a couple of other books that introduced the IPAD (how to turn it on, sync it, etc.) but they did not do a very good job of providing examples and instructions on how to use all of the cool features such as iCloud to keep my IPOD, IPAD, and computer all in sync with each other.

This book does a great job of providing exactly what I was looking for. I would say that it provides the functional information, examples, and instructions that one needs to be productive with the IPAD and to actually have fun using it. The book is organized in sections such as "Video", "Books and Magazines", "The iCloud and You", etc.
