The necklacce is very pretty, with nice detail. When it arrived, I thought I would wear it like a normal necklace, but after just wearing it around the house, part of the glass broke and all the sand came out. I emailed the seller and they sent me a new one with in a few days and said that it is fragile, so I think it is best kept on display, but it is very authentic and fun to look at/ play with carefully. I now wear the broken one and keep the intact one in its display case. I am 17, and even the kids at school either thought it way fun, really liked it, and even a boy in my math class said, "hey, you are just like hermione granger"...if only I were as good at math as hermione would be. overall I definitely recommend it, but if you are planning on wearing it, beware that the glass may break.

I love this necklace and wore is for a long time, but it is not constructed well. The words wear easily, and the component parts of the necklace break and fall off, like the pegs on the sides. I would have preferred them to make this more durable and of jewelery quality so it would have lasted. I may order another because I loved it so much, but it is really poorly made to withstand wear.

I love the Harry Potter movies and I especially love Hermione and her time turner. I debated over the whole summer whether or not I wanted to spend $50 on a necklace. I decided after three months that it was worth it. I was right. I have gotten so many quirky comments from people at my college about how neat they think it is that I have a time turner. Frequently, they ask me to read what's written on the rings. I think at this point, I may have them memorized within the week.
Other reviewers have mentioned that it is breakable. It is very fragile, but if you take care of it and don't bonk it on things, it will be fine. I pay special attention to the hour glass because the glass seems really thin. The only thing I have to say that is not positive is that I was expecting the chain to be longer. I think it would have been neat to have the chain much longer. But, it still looks great with the length that it's at now.
I love the time turner and am really glad that I bought it. It's really worth it.

If not for my daughter falling in love with it, I would have sent it back. It is so cheaply constructed that every time she wears it I'm afraid it's going to break. Best kept on display. A nice piece for that purpose.

Just received the time-turner I ordered for my 10 year old girl and am quite disappointed. While, it looks interesting and is rather close to the real thing from a cursory glance - I think at $49 it's a genuine ripoff. Based on the quality of materials used and the workmanship, perhaps it would have been barely worthwhile at half that price, if not less. First, the electroplated steel construction appears cheap - I was expecting the product to at least be die-cast brass or bronze. Second, the inscriptions are painted on and will wear off rather quickly. It is really not expensive to mass produce die-cast brass/bronze components where the text is inscribed on the metal. Third, the hour-glass is a joke - made of thin and fragile glass. The sand runs down to the bottom in about 2 seconds. Fourth, the workmanship of the display case is rather shoddy. All in all, I would not recommend this shabbily built overpriced Chinese-made trinket to anybody.

I got this for my girlfriend for Christmas. (I'm twenty and she's eighteen, a big Harry Potter fan) She loves it, but I'm a little disappointed in it. Certainly not designed to be used as a necklace. It feels like it might break if you look at it wrong. It comes with a cool (but cheaply made) display case. It makes a great decoration, but isn't designed for any sort of use.

Do not waste your money on this piece of junk.

My daughter saved up diligently for this item. The picture looks wonderful -- shimmering gold, with a glistening hourglass inside. The reality is far different. The 'metal' part of this trinket looks like cheap goldtone plastic. The hourglass is a poorly-crafted glob of plastic with a grubby looking little blob of dirty sand inside -- and it popped out after two days! Reviews here say it's not durable -- that's understating the point. Look at it wrong and it falls apart.

I am royally angry that the so-called 'Noble' collection is offering up this cheap, ugly dime-store trinket for FIFTY DOLLARS. The company is doing nothing more than taking advantage of kids who love Harry Potter to sell them garbage at inflated prices.

Do NOT buy this item.

This shouldn't be listed under toys--the Noble Collection (who makes these) is all about replicas as collector items. This isn't meant to be played with. That said I have used this item for costumes and have turned it many times with no problem at all--nothing is broken or rubbed off and I've it for a long time.

I am extremely disappointed in this item and even more disappointed in the seller. I paid $50 for this and when it arrived it had fallen apart. Everyone I have shown it to thinks it's made of plastic. I contacted seller via email immediately (10 days ago) and have not gotten a response. I just threw away $50 because that's where this thing will go - in the trash. Bought a timeturner from eBay for $30 and it's great. I actually wear it a lot and am always complimented. Bought this one as it came in a box and was described as "collectible." Wanted to give it as a gift which I obviously will not do because I would be embarrassed. If you want a timeturner go to eBay. The fact that this seller has never responded is sad. I hope they are enjoying my $50 because it's the last penny they will ever see from me or any of my contacts.

The time turner came and my 11 year old was so excited, and we were impressed by the packaging and how "true to life" the product was. Therin lies the problem...a few turns...like Hermione would do, and off come the knobs (and they didn't just unscrew, they broke off)...and down come the tears. We explained that this was not a toy, rather it was jewelry, and my daughter treated it as such, but again, who isn't going to turn it, it's a "time turner."
