The first thing I would like to note is this item is labelled entirely inaccurately. There is absolutely nothing about this that indicates "toy" to me -- it is a collector's item and it is not meant to be played with.
I was very pleased with this purchase, but then again -- the Noble Collection has always provided very nice collector's items. The wand looks exactly like the wand that Professor Snape uses in the Harry Potter movies. It isn't hand-carved or anything, but for me that does not detract from the value of this purchase.
I would recommend this wand for any Harry Potter fan, but especially for those who always believed and loved Severus Snape. As he has always been my favorite character, it's an honor to own his wand.

This wand is beautiful - my stepson got it recently. He and my daughter are in love with all things Potter. They had found the wands they wanted on the Noble Collection website - this one included. Although the description just says "Collector's Box" it DOES come in the Ollivander's box - it's exactly as shown on the NC website and cheaper when you figure in tax and shipping.
This wand isn't one of the sharper-ended wands, so it is a better choice when buying for children; as opposed to the super-sharp ended wand my daughter asked for (Professor Slughorn's-only available on the NC website).
I would definitely recommend this wand for older children as it is one of the sturdier wands and again, it does come in the Ollivander's box.

Amazon really needs to recategorize this product, because if it were to be used as a "toy" it would break very quickly. As such, it is a very fine collectible. I was hesitant to buy it from Amazon instead of the WB online shop, but it is in fact the same seller and the same fine product. It IS made of resin, not wood, and is somewhat fragile. The coloration is also different. In the photograph it appears grey or silvery. It is, in fact, a very dark matte black, not extremely glossy.
It was shipped promptly and in very secure packaging. The wand is nestled inside very dense foam padding, inside a collector's box, which is inside a padded shipping box. I was very pleased, and when the clerk at the post office pulled that long, thin box out of the bin, I felt as if I were at Ollivander's myself!
The wand is a bit heavier than I had imagined, but it is not a bad thing. One must simply be mindful and take care not to drop it.
Overall, I am very pleased. My only regret is that I wish these products could be made of real wood instead of resin, but that cannot be helped.

Very durable and movie likeness.
My 13 year old loves it. It has held up very well to excessive use and it looks and feels so real. If only it was, then I could have him create a spell to clean his room. :-)
