5.0 out of 5 stars Great book..kept my interest December 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
An awesome freebie for the Kindle recently. The book description caught my eye. After being married for many years and raising two children who are now adults, could there be surprises in store? Mr. Robert Williamson receives a blackmailing note on one of his last nights on the summer island with his wife. When he returns home another note is waiting for him. He does not even open it but places it in his pocket and just moments later he has a stroke leaving him unable to move well or talk. His wife finds the note and shares it with their daughter. A detective is hired. It turns out that Robert was blamed for a murder long ago and someone is setting him up for it in order to get some money years later. Could something that happened to he family back in the 1970's be involved in the 1968 murder mystery? The book kept my focus and interest. Very well written. I sometimes find editing errors in kindle freebies but this was written very well. The book kept me wanting to read more to find out who is doing this to the Williamson's and what the history is behind their son's refusal to be in touch with them for all these years. I gave the book 5 stars!

1.0 out of 5 stars poorly edited January 24, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Good story, but so poorly edited that it was hard to read: misspellings, incorrect word use, many grammar mistakes. The book has the markings of computer generated text.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Note January 20, 2013
By SandyK
Format:Kindle Edition
Although I hated to put the book down it ultimately ended as less of a thriller than I'd hoped for, and the gov,t. Interaction regarding finances seemed incidental.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not sure WHAT to say January 2, 2013

I gave the book 5 stars because, well, I couldn't put it down. I NEVER saw any of it coming at me. No one could predict the ending. I'm wondering HOW the author did. Wow, this story is like non other I've EVER read!!!!! It had me spooked, scared, feeling sad and hoping more than once that I was understanding what I thought I was reading. I kept thinking I had possibly missed a chapter, but no, the plot is so riveting I just couldn't believe WHAT I was reading. Believe me the characters are very real and as I've always said, EVERY FAMILY HAS A SECRET!!!
