I read and re-read this book three times! The complete informational study by the author was so astounding, that each re-read was more eye-opening than the last. I covered each footnote, and they are luminous but necessary, in order to assure myself that what I had been reading was fact not fiction. The Obama 'quotes' from his books tied him up so tightly that it amazes me more people did not see through him sooner. Obama is an empty suit, a liar and a cheat; he is so unfaithful to his own ideas that he never repeats the same thing twice...except for his phony tag..."Hope and Change!" We've seen no hope for this country from him, and we've certainly seen only changes for the worse ie debt and more debt. Gads! I sure hope millions more people read this book prior to the next election. We cannot be duped twice by this scoundrel.

Why would anyone be interested in this book after Obama has been inaugurated? This book is just as important after the election, even though remarks in it about how McCain can and will defeat Obama in the election are strange to read now. Corsi does a very good job documenting Obama's past, which is prologue to the present and the future. You will learn that Obama will say whatever he needs to say in order to get what he wants. It is part of his training in the methodology of Saul Alinsky. You will also learn that "listening" has a different meaning and purpose for Obama than for most people. When you hear that Obama wants to listen to someone, it means he is acting out his former role as a community organizer in the Alinsky model. That means he gathers the complaints of his audience and feeds them back to that audience as a plan of action that promotes victimhood. You will learn that "change" is a finely honed buzzword which really means a Marxist redistribution of wealth. You will learn that Obama is no champion of the poor, but helped Tony Rezko get federal grant money to rehabilitate low income housing, which money went for other things instead, including campaign contributions to Obama. The result was that Obama's constituents in a Rezko building spent five weeks without heat in the middle of a Chicago winter. Would that those who go into ecstasy at the sound of Obama's name would read this book and get a grip on reality. It is a more important book now than ever.

Now that 2008 has passed, the facts can be checked,
This review is from: The Obama Nation (Mass Market Paperback)
Very often, especially early on in this book, Jerome Corsi would repeat events and conclusions stated earlier, sometimes only several pages earlier. One might be tempted to say that he wrote the book in uneven intervals. More likely, though, he puts on his "seminar professor" hat to give the reader an unbroken logic chain. Since Corsi does this less as the book progresses, the professor-explanation seems the likely one. This annoyance is easy to forgive in a writer. The reader will keep in mind that Corsi published his book just after the political party conventions, but just before the TARP crash. That latter event changed the direction of the elections in November drastically in ways obvious to us readers now, but not obvious to the author. Clearly, the book was written to convince "undecided" voters to vote against Barack Obama in November 2008. He therefore had to publish a month or so before the elections. One wonders if he now wished to include the TARP event in his writing. Can't have everything! Corsi spends considerable time on the life of young Obama, then on the post-college community-organizing Obama. His aim was to show the extent of Barack Obama's leftist slant in early years, and why we would therefore end up with a similar-minded president. Few voters would have believed this before the election. It turns out that Corsi was more correct than not. He treated much of Obama's early life fairly, and indeed with much sympathy. Chapter 8, "The Cult of Personality," inserts the author's idea for the book's subtitle. Most of this chapter filters the cult idea through David Axelrod, Michele Obama, Christopher Blosser, and others. Clearly, the author wants to show the reader how Barack Obama's personality consists largely of influences from the people who are, and have been around him. This is much more than Tennyson's "we are a part of all that we have met" idea. Rather, Corsi's point is that the then-candidate had little more to offer than just the sum of his contacts. An interesting book and easy to read, well worth buying.

this book was full of substance and treated the subject fully and accurately as demonstrated by citing its sources. It enabled serious readers to have a good sense of capabilities and potential limitations of that individual. I suggest it be re-released well ahead of the next election cycle. The brief review on the book cover was sufficient to generate my interest and convince me it should be read. That proved to be the case.

There is so much material in this book. I read it before the 2008 election but it was so slow going because of poor editing. I would find a gem and then could not locate it again as it wasn't in the index and was squeezed in randomly in another topic. This really would have made a significant difference in the 2008 election if it had been easier to read (not in vocabulary but in sequencing). After wading through the excellent material, the election was over and some of the best gems came at the end! Also, it came out too close to the election to be of as much benefit as it could have been.I am rereading it again and well worth it!

Counter Point to Pro-Obama Media Coverage,
By Superman (Illinois) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality (Hardcover)
Contrary to what the far leftist pin heads say, this is a very informative book. Obama's mentors have virtually all been far leftist radicals if not blatant anti-white, and anti-American bigots such as the detestable Jeremiah Wright and Frank Marshall. Then we have darling wife Michelle Obama who, when not taking swipes at her fellow white classmates in her master's thesis also pledged to, "give all my resources to the black community first and foremost". The Obama's and their inner circle place more emphasis on black racial identity than on being American. How can people with this mindset fairly and effectively govern a nation that is 66% white and 15% Hispanic? For those that think I'm being "racist" or too harsh this book contains some of Obama's memorable quotes from his book "Dreams From my Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance". Obama cites radical blacks Stokely Carmichael and Malcolm X as influencing his worldview. Very sobering but then again it's hip to hate white people. If the "mainstream" media (ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC) were doing its job then books like this wouldn't be necessary. Obama is probably the most unqualified person ever to seek the presidency. A community organizer is a polite description for a race baiter in the mold of Jesse Jackson. He's only served 143 days in the U.S. Senate and has not introduced or co-written any significant legislation. The one issue I have with this book is the foreign policy chapter. Actually, Barack Obama has been very sensible about the proper role of the U.S. in foreign affairs. Corsi's thesis is that Obama's policy could jeopardize the national interests of Israel. Corsi should be reminded that a U.S. President's role is to advance U.S. interests and not those of a foreign nation. Corsi claims to be an independent but his policy views dovetail with the radical neoconservatives that have infested the Bush administration. This makes me question his claim of being independent and non-partisan. Note: Most of the one star reviews are from Obama's true believers who haven't read the book and go into convulsions when anyone has the temerity to criticize our new "dear leader".

This book should be required reading for every citizen of the United States. It is a factual and unbiased discourse on the present state of affairs facing our country. I say that it is unbiased because it treats both democrats/democratic leaders and republicans/republican leaders equally. It IS biased in the area of world politics, being obviously opposed to a common World Government, common World Currency, etc, etc. But since I am ALSO opposed to the pressures of the educated (but not necessarily intelligent) elite trying to force the citizens into this mold, I am in total agreement with the views of the author. In my opinion, the only REAL justification for the complete integration of the people of this planet into a single government is if we were invaded by the Klingons or some other alien beings from outer space.

Obama is well into his first term as President of the USA. So, why should we care about Dr. Corsi's pre-election 2008 book? Because it's the cult of personality, created by David Axelrod and pushed along by Communists-in-training, that American fell in love with. The real Obama is ... well... one of the "lucky kids" who attended elite schools all of his life and made very good connections. What Obama struggled with is his father's abandonment and his mother's flakiness. Obama isn't confused about his race - he confused about why his biological mother and father weren't *there* for him!!!! Further, Obama took comfort in radical Islam, Communism, socialism, black liberation theology, and, of course, drugs and alcohol. Obama's involvement with radical, far- left ideologies has left an imprint on who he is.Corsi's book is well -written and enjoyable. He gives background on Obama's mentors and idols - Saul Alinsky, Tony Rezko, Jeremiah Wright, etc. Knowing who Saul Alinksy was and what he did helps understand why it's frightening that Obama idolizes the man. What's so important about Obama Senior and Kenya? You get that explained, too. It's never too early for November 2012. Prepare yourself by reading this book (and at clearance/discount prices, you have no excuse not to!!!)

Corsi has accumulated a number of interesting facts about Obama, but the book appears hastily written. For example, when Corsi discusses "Obama Visits Africa" on page 24-27, he neglects to ask an obvious question - What passport did Obama use to travel to Africa? Since Obama says he did not have a US passport until he was a US Senator, what passport did he use to travel to Africa in 19986 and 1992 (or Pakistan in the early 1980s). Either Obama is lying about not having a US passport, or Obama had a US passport in another name, or Obama used a foreign passport. It seems that with a little more time some valuable truth could be uncovered.I also didn't care for the bias (Is Obama another Dukakis (p 282). I'd prefer a more objective accounting of the facts - I'll make my own bias! I liked Corsi point out about how so many of Obama's speeches were actually taken from other Alexrod clients. Infomation like this is not found in other sources and gives us some valuable insight into Obama. Overall a good contribution to the body of literature regarding Obama |
