Book Description

The Old World: Where modern day Greece, meets old world mythology.

Still reeling from the sudden and tragic death of her parents, 22 year old Aria escapes to her family’s vacation home in Greece. But when a simple dream opens a portal into another dimension, Aria finds herself immersed in a world her parents sacrificed everything to keep her from. A world ruled by vengeful gods but where love can be measured by a mere touch.

Guided by the family she never knew existed, Aria begins to learn of a prophecy with the power to turn gods against one another in a war that could seal not only her fate but the fate of the man she is forbidden to love – a man who’s identity alone can change her life forever.

Some say love is blind but in The Old World, bloodlines run deep and family comes first…even if it means sacrificing your own.

“Many things await you, child. Things so magnificent that words fall short of describing their beauty. Many have hoped for your return while others believe you to be a myth. Now you have the choice to live your destiny and leave your old life in the past.”

2.0 out of 5 stars Twilight April 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I got this book with the idea that it was about fantasy and magic, but a quarter of the way into the book it changed into a soppy teenage drama. I might have misread the book description when I bought it. It was focused mostly on teenage angst and drama rather than actual magic/fantasy. Aria discovers that she's the prophesied chosen one who has unimaginable powers. The beginning was interesting but once she meets the perfect Xander (think Edward from Twilight), its all drama and teenage mood swings. A total disappointment. I give a two star rating since atleast the beginning was mildly interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars A powerful story! March 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Through a portal in Greece is the old world where gods and goddesses exist, a world where conservative-minded Aria is offered a refuge after the death of her parents. Once there she begins a metamorphosis of sorts, discovering secrets long hidden with a family she never knew existed and finds a love she never expected. But soon she's thrust into warring families and betrayal. If she is to survive in this world with her heart intact she will need to figure out friend from foe and make choices that might weigh love over family. The Old World will definitely resonate with any readers of fantasy and romance who seek that perfect balance of escape. The second book of the series is already out and I cannot wait to start reading book two, Birthright.

I loved the creativity of the book. I loved the romance and the idea of soulmates. I loved all the characters. The only thing is it took me a while to get into the book, but once I did I was into it completely. I also didn't want the book to end. Will there be a part two? I would really like to continue reading more about this world. Great job to the author!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun and different July 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Aria the main chika in the story is a well written protagonist. I came to love her and the story. It put a fresh base to old greek myths and was an easy read. I don't remember if there were editorial issues because the story flowed so well that I may have bypassed them without notice.
