I have a severe allergic reaction to forced, contrived, inane cutesy-ness. Yet there was no warning anywhere on the book's cover. If mine were a recognized medical condition, I'd sue.
Every recipe in the book is re-named with some cloying half-witticism. And the index lists dishes by those stupid names. So you have some ingredients for a dish, you go to look up the dish in the index, it ain't there. The authors' meaningless, idiotic pun is there instead. Look up 'goulash'. Nope. You have to know it's called "Mom's goulash". Look up 'Chicken stew'. No joy. What they have, it turns out, is something called "super cluck stew". I'm tellin' ya, these guys are cute with a capital K.
I detest litter. I freely confess that threw this book into the Hudson River. I'll share the blame with the morons who wrote this thing. I have an image of these two guys sitting down with their list of recipes one evening, drinking like a couple of fish, and not quitting till they came up with a cute name for every single recipe. What was the point?
Get a real cookbook.

When I got out of the service in 1972 and was going to school,
I bought this book. Great for students or crock-pot people.
Excellent recipes. I still use it in dutch oven cooking.
May not be for people averse to meats, because it is meat heavy.
Also has seafood section. Most are quite spicy.
